Got the new tires on. Need to do a small amount of trimming and should be good. Only some rubbing in the front at full lock.

My new tires are in. I had put my liberty wheels/tires in the XJ while waiting for the parts to finish the rear 4 link. These tires are going on the XJ and KJ is getting its wheels back.

So this really confirms it. Sfa after the XJ is done. Will be a set of used jba coilovers, jba a arms, and 4" rear jba springs, going up for sale when that time comes.

The tires I went with are the same Cooper STT Pros that I have in the KJ except these are 37s but both on a 17" wheel. I was looking at these vs the BFG KM3 but the KM3s were only available in 16s and 18s. I also got all 5 37s shipped to me for 1500. Ordered from Easy-tires' ebay page. There was a 15% off promo code that took $100 off. Amazon had the tires for the same after promo price for prime members but I would have been charged tax on Amazon. Also the KM3s would have been an extra ~$75 per tire.

I'm just waiting on the wheels to come in and ubolts for the new rear axle before I can get them on the Jeep.

Another over 450 mile round trek this weekend. Some wicked rain on the ride back through PA. I'm liking my tire selection. A little over 23mpg this time.

The rear is sitting on jackstands. I would need like 8-10" lift springs, but it's totally doable on the rear.

Replaced the transfer case switch. Finally, for the first time since buying the Jeep 3 years ago, my dash lights up when I'm in part time, full time and low range! I took it for a test run and discovered, especially with low range, that it wouldn't engage immediately (at times) and id have to wiggle the 4WD shifter until low range engaged (light came on). Theres been so many times when ive been out in the bush and have gone to use low range and it wouldn't feel like it was even in 4WD. But, the lever is in 4LO so I guess it is, right? Better drive through that bog hole! Oh wait, now I'm stuck. Now I know it wasn't in 4WD, hence why I would keep getting stuck!

Side note, the old switch was completely stuffed. The button end would just fall in and out on its own. Plus, the previous owner had soldered the wires onto the switch. No connector in sight! That was a pain to fix as I had to rig up my own connector. Its working well so far though.

ordered some new wheel brushes and a set of wheel woolies to take care of the MOABs, loving the look of these wheels, and much to my surprise the 265/70r16 tires on the 16x8 tj moab have no clearance issues whereas I was still getting a minor amount of rub with the 16x7 pro-comps and 245/75r16 tires.

the RC crawler/trail runner is almost finished too.

Upper links and mounts mostly done. Just some gussetting left.

Got my wheels in for the XJ. All the stores were closed and didn't want to wait to mounted one by hand. F that. Never doing that again. Never did it before so didn't realize the valve stems popped in so ended up dropping 2 inside the tire lol. Going to bring them all to the local truck shop and get them mounted. No sure if I want weights or will go with pellets/bbs.

Hey, you never know until you try! :sawzall:

(Then once you do know, you may wonder WHY you tried, but that's another story...) ;)

Mounted many tires by hand over the years
No issues at all, can mount them almost as fast as the regular tire changers really
Of course do have the spoons and bars to do it ( bought them later on in life ) but still not hard at all.

Do those bulbs need load resisters?

OUCH! Did you keep the kangaroo for the meat? :happy175:

I clipped a deer not too long ago and it broke the fender tabs and my headlight assembly. Been waiting to fix it, along with a few other things.

Guess you'll be needing some new fender tabs, any idea of which ones are the best (besides Mopar at $7ea)
