Hey guys im new to this forum but my girlfriend bought my moms old 2004 jeep liberty limited with the 3.7 i believe and its had this issue while my mom owned it and i just cant figure out what it might be. So the jeep after it warms up only blows hot air out. And i mean like its on the higest heat setting all the time. You can turn the nob all the way to cold and even turn the AC on but it only shoots the hottest setting of air. It did before only shoot hot air shile driving then at idle it would cool down but now even at idle its just nothing but hot air. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

See if the conpressor is locking up at all. Do a pressure test on the refrigeration. Likely has a leak.

What the KJs have is a "blend" door that moves flaps around to direct hot or cold air through the various vents. This blend door moves when you rotate the heat knob to the required temperature but the system can fail.

You can try the search function on this Forum and also try LOST JEEPS • Index page.

In the meantime download the KJ Service Manuals here which will explain how the system works....2004 model is not listed but 2003 will be close enough: Index of /manuals/Jeep/KJ

Check out the How To section below....there may be some posts on how to repair Blend Door problems.

I am assuming that you are getting heated air blown in as apposed to ambient air.
If the air conditioner is not working it most likely is caused by low refrigerant.

There is a "low refrigerant switch" which will stop the AC clutch energizing if refrigerant is to low....likewise read up in the Service Manual on the AC operation.

Any luck with this? My 2002 is doing the same thing. Going to pull the dash apart soon

I saw a previous post where the owner removed the glove box and was able to get a good view of the Blend Door action.

Could be the blend door motor or the heat control switch faulty.:emotions34:

Check out the How To section for Blend Door problems.
