As long as your pinion angle is good

yep its all good and feels great. The lower bolt to the bracket is completely tight (yes intalled right and no not cross threaded) and has 1/16 inch gap between it and the bracket. Should i get a washer ? Everything feels great so far, great upgrade. The gap just scares me because i drive this thing 80 miles to work everyday.

Damn what happened? Too close to property line or too big?

They were dragging their feet on our building permit even after approving our zoning permit and electrical permit. So we just went with a different design to keep it under the limit a building permit is required for.




Also update on the 9" I'm building for the XJ. Ordered some weld on caliper brackets, gm big bore calipers, summit racing adjustable prop valve and distribution block, and a Durango master cylinder which has ~30% more surface area vs the stock MC which should be plenty to push all 4 disc's.




Ive also been searching for used coilovers for the KJ sfa swap. Really want a 14" or 16" set.

denied zoning variance due to size. trying to get a land use lawyer to fight it for me, as the ordinance makes no mention of an upper limit.

Instead of ordering a shed I ended up building one with my gfs brother. First time for both of us.

16x12ft and probably 18-20ft tall. The town kept dicking us around on the permit for the 20x10 shed I wanted to order. They also wanted a 3ft concrete foundation for anything over 200sqf. Glad we went this route as I have way more workshop space and the 2nd floor will be all storage. Luckily they did approve my permit for a sub panel so I can have 220v for my welder.

This is why my lower control arm build has been taking so long.

I heard what sounded like lifter tick on Wednesday so i replaced all the lifters on Saturday.

I have now realized that it is either the belt tensioner or the A/C compressor clutch making the noise.

on the bright side, my cams, rockers, etc... all look excellent, some minor sludge at the oil fill neck inlet, but that wiped away pretty easily. And if the compressor needs to be replaced I already have everything needed to replace it and charge the system.

Well little while back got some lights from tjkj
I finally mounted one pair, the Vision X's on the 03.
I had the headlights on, turned the Vision Xs on, couldn't even tell the headlights were even on. :happy175::happy175:
Now to try them out more, next door neighbor just mailed the hay so time to get out in the fields
Now to mount the 4 Rigid pods on front as well :gr_grin::gr_grin:

I got the p0304 code. Pulled the #4 coil put it on #1. Still get the 304 code. Pulled the plug and its was wet with fuel. So now i guess its a bad plug. Using NGK ZFR6F. Any suggestions?

Compressor went on Sunday. Never done anything with an ac system before. So I took a night class at the University of the Inernet. I bought the manifold and rented the vacuum pump. You can rent both from autozone or buy a cheap set at HF. I went with the OEM brand Advanced Auto sells for the manifold.

Replaced the compressor, accumulator, pag 46 oil, and orings/gaskets. Held a proper vacuum. Recharged with stoptech r134a as it's one of the few that is only r134a without any stopleak or oil in it. Also cheap at $5/12oz. Which makes it easy because the system holds 26oz of freon and 8oz of oil.

Was 90° and had 30-50psi low and 225-300 high from idle-2500rpm. Didn't take a reading of the vent temp but it was very cold.

Used it to haul 14 assorted perennials and 14 cubic feet of mulch home to go in the 3' x 25' flower bed I tilled out along one side of my garage yesterday. It was my fifth straight day of working outdoors in the 90F heat.

When I got out of the shower my wife referred to me as her "new husband", as opposed to the dirty old guy she was married to earlier this afternoon. :help:

I've spent the last 4 days outside in 100F weather, loving every minute of it.
I'm insane like that. Also think I drank my weight in water on each of those days. At some point you just can't get any wetter, so you just keep on keeping on.

Got the recall arms done. My Mrs picked up from dealership about a mile away. I jumped in tonight about 1am to go feed some horses and it drove like crap and made lots of noise. So I took a peek and found one of the bolts so loose I could turn it by hand and see Gap between nut and bracket. Got it home and checked torque on everything I thought might be involved in the process. Some things were snug, others just better than snug, but nothing was torqued properly except the lug nuts. Don't much like letting strangers work on it. Might go have a talk with service manager tomorrow. Figure they ought to know.

I've seen dealerships install new LCA with the KJ up on a rack , fully tighten them down, stupid and lazy. Asked the Service Manager if they did all upper and lower control arms that way and his reply was " of course " Glad it wasn't mine on the rack ! Of course was my buddys and he was :favorites68:

Bought a new floor jack to aid in lowering the fuel tank to swap out the pump assembly. At 5/8 of a tank I get U1411 code that goes off at 3/8 of a tank. Figure at 160k miles I might as well swap it out.
