Years before any recall on the lower control arms, my jeep was jumping all over the place, as the bushings were toast.
I'd like to see what new arms & bushings are now being provided for free.
So if you are going to have the new replacement work done, please get some pics of the new arms and bushings before they install them and post some pics!
What I found was relief slots/cut outs were present at the axle side bushings, that I filled in with windshield urethane with new Spicer bushings, for less wiggle room, tighten things up.

The OEM control arms I still have, with new bushings pressed in, without any problems since.

Good "heads up" towpro.

Don't know about your 03 GetEmSteveDave. Looks like 04-07.

I will make this a "sticky" so more people will see it.

Not the mountains.
Yeah I received my letter yesterday. I'll take the free parts since it will save me the trouble of doing it.

Straight replacement, there are no adjustments / alignment for the rear.
It would sure be nice to see what arms / bushings they are using in the replacements. pics please!

Does this apply worldwide or just in the USA? I only replaced mine about 6 months ago with Moog Problem Solvers.

If I had to guess it'll only apply the KJs registered in "Salt" areas, places that use salt on roads during the winter, so 'Stralia probably wouldn't count.

Apparently the rear lower control arms of my 2007 were already replaced under a 2012 recall. Maybe this recall covers more vehicles that werent covered?

My Jeep originated in southern VA and was not included in the previous recall. I got a notice from Carfax that it is included in this one. Don't know if that's because it is a "different" recall or if it is because I moved it up north when I bought it five years ago.

Actually it's because Skynet has implanted a microchip based tracking device in all vehicles in preparation for them to rise up against humans and they don't want the machines to have defective parts... At least that's what the voices tell me. :Insane:

This recall has nothing to do with where it was sold originally, where it is now or anything, unlike the previous one .

This makes it look like the previous recall was just an attempt to blame it on road salt so they wouldn't have to fix them all. Wonder what forced the change?
