anyone use the dorman transmission pan with the drain plug in it? some of the reviews on amazon says it leaks.

I know of about 20-22 of them



Being that the only kit is 800 bucks I think I'll stick with what I got but I do like the look of this. Reminds me of the Grand Wagoneer which is one of my all time favorite jeeps

The Grand Wagoneer & done right is one of the best classics by far!
On wheeler Dealers TV show they found one mainly mechanically sound & did a wonderful job on restoring it.
I wish I could have bought it! New interior, lifted properly, beauty paint job!

I used to work there on the plating line and finishing line. Never realized how great of a product they truly are until years later when I couldn’t find set thst wouldn’t chip or rust. Probably the best brand out there and it’s worth the extra $&

All that I know of were from the factory , not kits.

Cool you worked there, and that you also praise the quality.
My non locking McGard lugs have performed outside flawlessly for 8 years, no rust, great product & worth the $ for sure!
Interesting to note,there is a free registration, & serial numbered stickers for the key socket.
One sticker they recommend into the glove box and the other to register with included envelope, to make replacement easy should key get lost.
Also really like the idea of a dual hex socket!

changed the water pump, thermostat, thermostat housing,upper and lower hoses and of course new coolant. was planning on doing the install of the heavy duty cooling shroud and fans but forgot to pick up the fan clutch wrench.

Finally replaced the multi-function switch, for years it has been flicking the fog lights off whenever the wheel would kick the turn signal off. recently it started going crazy with the dimmer and interior lights so needless to say it had to go.

today will be engine oil and filter as well as the t-case fluid. got a motive power fill so that will be a much simpler task now. hopefully i can manage getting the new tires and wheels on this week and get the alignment done.

That’s awesome. Didn’t know that either. Located right here in orchard park New York - probably stop by see what the walk-in prices are.
I only stayed for for about a year. The atomsphere near the plating was giving me headaches so I left for hvac training.

Ordered all associated parts to repair the passenger side cv. Also ordering a whole new front driveshaft. I felt like being lazy this time and just getting the whole unit instead of rebuilding the rear part.

Well, discovered more problems. Today. Leaving work, my front passanger tire locked up, I just did that CV axle, so i dont know what i did wrong, gonna tear into it Friday, hopefully figure out an issue, got to do the breaks while I have it torn apart... any suggestions on brake pads, and what might be going on?

I just had the exact same thing happen to me. In my case it was a caliper bolt that fell out causing the caliper to dig into the rim and ultimately lock up that wheel. Had to replace pads,rotor , and caliper bokts and made sure to torque them to 120 ftlbs. Check service manual for exact torque specs
