That is 100000000000000000000% false.

Unless you like to overheat your engine, since that hose will suck shut and starve the engine for coolant.

good to know,

heard it was for when filling cooling system and they pulled a vacuum on the system to bleed it. Since thats not happening on this type of service, popular logic was skip.

I'll be sure to put one back in next time i change hoses.

... on a brand new Mopar radiator.

Interesting...

Mine was the original production Mopar radiator. However, it was 15yrs old at the time @86k miles (and likely never serviced before).

I have read elsewhere on more than a couple of occasions (...if I recall correctly... and the reports were accurate), that the production Mopar radiators in this model (KJ) Jeep, tended to be weak and were prone to premature failure. I don't mean to paint a broad brush on model years, engine/trans configurations, individual builds, etc, but their seems to be a commonality related to these (some?) Mopar radiators.

However, I got a Dumb D*ck question... (lol)

What Spring?.....(my hose had none)

Perhaps you or a fellow member here can kindly point me in the correct direction as to its p/n or such...

I haven't had the spring for years and have never had an issue.

I'm guessing you'd have to get a Mopar hose for that. Or a junkyard.

While we're on the subject, if you ordered Mopar hoses for the KJ, would they come with the clamps? I know Ford and Land Rovers do, they place them on the hose.

I think I read a thread here with the part numbers for the OEM hose clamps. They are a different part number than the hose.

Anyone ever replace the hose from the radiator to the coolant reservoir? Did you just buy the entire moper reservoir?

The radiator petcock completely shot out of the radiator and landed lodging itself into the power steering lines.
