Gonna miss my Libby and all the help I received on this forum, but I decided to move on. My old and then my new ride!

It's a brand new 2018 Chevy ZR2 Duramax Diesel Colorado.

Thanks guys.

Electronic front and rear lockers. I "literally" bought it for $9,519 under the sticker/msrp. I really think they made a mistake, but the deal is done and the papers are signed. Best price I had before finding this one was $4,000 more and I looked all around the country.

So bummed I couldn't drive it home yesterday, but I bought it in MA and I live in NH. They will send a courier up to my town hall on Monday with the paperwork so I can register it. In NH we don't register our vehicles at the DMV. We just go to our Town Clerk.

Wow, that's crazy...a major hassle for sure, but they'll likely take care of it with no questions asked.

I would ask what else they are willing to do besides fix it to keep your future business- sales and service. You could always remind them how close another Chevy dealer is that would be happy to service your new truck.

Even their GM said he wouldn't take it and that I'd be looking at around a 10% hit on resale. It's no longer accident free nor will it have a clean Carfax, since there was a police report.

They're trying to locate a similar one, but I have my doubts and will probably demand my deposit back tomorrow morning.

Get the deposit back while they are looking at least. Or, depending on how long you plan to keep it, see what they would knock off the price on this one.

An area Jeep dealer had the same thing happen on a brand new 2017 Cherokee Trailhawk while they were pulling it off the truck. They fixed the damage but the $37k price dropped to $29k!!

Factoring in the hit I'll take in resale they'd need to knock off a minimum of $5-6k and still i probably wouldn't buy it unless I couldn't spot the repair. They never seem to get the color match nor the finish/orange peel to match 100%. Also, repaints never hold up as well as the factory finish.

Don't care how good the deal was, it isn't worth this BS.

When searching for my Jeep, I found at least one that had an accident reported before even the first delivery/registration. My co-worker who works in a service department told me it happens and depending on how in depth the report goes, there's no real "hit" unless an airbag deploys or it's listed as "undrivable/had to be towed" because it sometimes happens when they are driving them off the ship, but still has to be reported for it to be repaired.

I couldn't make this shit up if I tried.. The dealer and I scrambled to find another one somewhat locally on another dealer lot. I found a similarly equipped Satin Steel(grey) one in Putnam, CT not far from the dealer I was working with.

I was supposed to pick up the grey one, the replacement for the one their courier crashed on Wednesday, yesterday afternoon. I got a call yesterday morning around 9:30 and it was my salesman telling me there was damage on the replacement one as well. I literally hung up on them and emailed their General Manager asking that they return my $25K ASAP.

Needless to say I was a little bummed, so decided to get out of the house and go take a look at a couple other ZR2's within an hour or two that I found while searching for a replacement vehicle.

Long store, still long, I bought my 3rd ZR2 yesterday at another dealership. I really just want to see this one because I had never seen this color before. Cajon Red is not very popular around here probably because it's an upgrade. It was loaded and way more than I wanted to spend. This other dealer felt so bad for me after they heard all I went thru and even though we were still $2-3,000 apart and I wasn't budging they sold me the truck. We were so far apart I never thought it would happen and I wasn't trying to knock them down any further. I truly believe they made almost nothing on the sale. They said they'd make a few bucks on the GM Extended Warranties.

So, here's #3. Yes, I've now purchased over $140,000 worth of trucks in the last 7 days. Can't imagine how my credit report looks. I know my insurance company thinks I'm nuts with all these different ID Cards. Sure hope 3rd time is a charm. This one is by far the sharpest of the 3 I bought over the last week and of the dozen or so I've seen over the last 2-3 weeks. It was pretty filthy from sitting on the dealers lot right by a main road and the picture doesn't honestly do it justice, but the deal is done, I took it for a half hour ride while they finished up the paperwork, they then pulled it off the lot for detailing, gave me the spare key and I pick it up on Monday.

Once again cautiously optimistic.
