still debating on rebuilding or replacing.

- if rebuild, any recommended parts brand or site?

- if replace, any recommended rebuilt/re manufacturer engine sites on the interwebs, ebay, etc... ?

I replaced my 3.7 with an engine from O’Reilly’s Auto. About 2k miles on it now and running great.

I would suggest getting a motor from a 2007 liberty and just swapping over the sensors and intake manifold. In 2007 they changed the cam profile for a better idle and they also increased the compression ration slightly as well.

That is interesting, did not know the the 2007 has a better idle, thanks to the cam profile.
Increase in compression ratio, wonder if improvement were also made to the heads as well then?
Is the timing identical/timing chains etc?

List of available donors. You can use up to the 2013 engine. Just your sensors, an EGR block off plate, your intake, and a hole for the power steering pump bracket will need tapped. The hole is there already. It just isn't used in later models.

That is if yours is an 05 or newer. Older and you will need to swap out the reluctor rings. Which requires removal of the crank shaft.

Don't get a 2012 or new engine due to engineering flaws in the heads, they have coolant leaks and other problems as stated by Chrysler engineers. basically they tried to make the 3.7 better and failed.

As for brands jasper offers some of the best engine rebuilds out there.

Why do they do that?? They did the same thing with the 4.0 after 1999.
