Thinking about selling off my Libby and going with a Cherokee or Compass Trailhawk.

To each his own I guess. When I buy a vehicle I always take into account the brand, model and tread wear of the tires. If the vehicle has off brand tires I actually subtract from the value. Same goes for options like a nice stereo, cruise control, etc.

As far as mileage goes, really???? A vehicle with only 26,000 miles compared to most out there with well over 100,000 miles isn't even in the same ballpark to me. I have never nor will I ever buy a vehicle with over 50,000 miles and I'm fine paying a premium for the lower mileage vehicles.

Once again, to each his own though.

I'm kind of in your camp on this. A 2002 KJ with only 26K miles would be worth more to me than any other KJ, especially with minimal wear and tear on the body. BUT... how many people are in the market for a 2002 KJ? Sadly, not many.

I doubt it if you get $7K for your KJ, but if you do, I'll give you a tip of my cap. GLWS.

Might be keeping it after all. Looking at a Volvo S60 Cross County for my daily driver and then I'll probably keep my Libby for off roading, trips to the range(mud, mud, mud) and those heavy snow days. Loved my 2014 Volvo S60 R-Design, but it was a little too expensive and way too low to the ground for around here(rural NH). Would be nice to get over 17mpg again on my road trips to VT, CT and MA.

Idk if the new i4t will be better built but from those I've talked to who have driven both they are glad they went with the V6. Much better drive ability in all situations.

Time to clean it up and list it on CL or Ebay. Bought a Chevy Colorado ZR2 Duramax Diesel yesterday. She's been good to me and I'm gonna miss her.

I'd love for someone on this forum to buy it and I'm not looking to get rich on it. Please don't talk to me about NADA though. If you can find another two owner 2002 Libby anywhere in the country with 28,000 CarFax documented miles in similar condition I will beat their asking price.

It's currently at 28,000 miles and I am the 2nd owner. It is my daily driver. In the last week I did a round trip up to my brothers new house in Hardwick, VT(3 hours each way) and yesterday I was in it all day(12 hours) driving from dealer to dealer in NH and MA until I found my new vehicle. I bought it about a year and a half ago with 11,000 miles. Engine, trans, transfer and the rest of the drivetrain are perfect. Cat back exhaust(all the way from the manifold cats), brakes(including lines, pads, shoes, calipers and pistons), H&R Springs, etc, etc all new within the last 16,000 miles or 16 months. I just replaced the rear upper with a factory one because I had a slight low speed rattle, but it wasn't that.

The body is pretty much scratch, ding and dent free. I added factory cruise, steering wheel audio controls and the upper display panel. Double din Android/Apple stereo with steering wheel control adapter and satellite receiver.

The interior has no rips, stains and almost no wear. Only slight sun fading to the cloth on the tops of the door panels.

If you followed any of my posts you know the tires are pretty much brand new.

Full disclosure on things it might need and it's condition.

1) Although the brakes have less than 17,000 miles on them I have noticed some pulsation while braking within the last month or so. It's been a tough Winter here and I'm not surprised if one of the front rotors has developed a slight warp.

2) This morning when I started it to take it to the car wash I noticed a slight exhaust tick on the drivers side where the exhaust meets the manifold cat. It was a one piece y-pipe and it never aligned perfectly, so I'm hoping it just needs a new doughnut.

3) Some clear coat pealing on the roof and some of the emblems are faded. Besides that the paint is all original and in great condition. I did plan to buff and wax it when I first bought it, but never got around to it.

4) Never figured out the low speed rattle I thought was the rear upper. I even paid the dealer $145 for them to put it up on the lift and test drive it to see if they could find anything. They said the suspension and exhaust all looked fine and they could not find anything worn or in need of replacement. Now I'm wondering if maybe it's the y-pipe upper cat joint causing the noise.

5) the only slight spot of rust on the entire body that I know about is inside the rear driver's side door opening just forward of the rear tire. It is obviously not visible when the door is close and it had been touched up prior to me buying it. If I didn't buy a new vehicle sometime in the next couple years I probably would have the area cut out and a boneyard patch put in. If I didn't mention it a buyer probably would never even know about it, but I am a man of honor and integrity.

Steering is like new. There is zero play and it racks perfectly. Front end alignment was done when I just had the new tires installed. Even being a shorter vehicle I have no problem doing 80 or 85 mph on the highway. I'm no longer a speed demon, so that's about tops for me.

Pretty sure I covered everything. Doesn't leak a drop of oil from anywhere. Sometimes, especially in the Summer when it's hot, the New Hampshire Oil Coat will creep and a drip or two will appear on the floor. You know its not actual oil from the vehicle because the oil they use is water soluble.

Last note on it. My older brother that I visited in VT last week has been a mechanic his entire adult life and owned 3 different gas stations over that time. While we were driving around last week he commented on how much he liked and was impressed with my vehicle(there was a lot of snow and mud in his driveway and I joked about pulling his full size GMC out if he needed it). He said he always hated Libby's and working on them because by the time they got to him the suspension was all loose and worn out and they would leak oil all over him while he was working on them.

I'm a straight shooter and if anyone from this forum wants to come by and give it a ride that would be great. I would honor and acknowledge anything found to be defective in or on the vehicle price wise.

I'm going to list it locally on CL and put it out on RT13 in town here with a asking price of $5,900 or best offer. I will sell it for best offer.

Todd, give me a shout. I'd like to make a deal with you. You would be my #1 choice of where I'd like my baby to go. I would let you have it for "significantly" less than what I plan to ask for it. Can't thank you enough for all the help you and you your prior posts have given me since I purchased my Libby.

Surprised at the rust spot with that low mileage but I guess it depends where the Jeep lived and what it went through in those miles? Our 2002 (which had 153,000 miles when we bought it 2 years ago) must have been a garage queen as no rust (was originally sold in Oklahoma, went through North Carolina before the dealer we bought it from here in Virginia picked it up). No paint issues either but usual dings for age/mileage and it's Tom's favorite color. :)

Thanks, but went with a Chevy Colorado ZR2 Diesel instead. Also, just sold the Libby earlier today. Happy it went to a Libby family. They had 2 others.
