Caliper Brands

Need to replace my front calipers. Problem is $150 a caliper is pretty expensive for Mopar. Anyone ever use $50 or less refurbs from elsewhere with success? I don't drive much anymore and I'm not really sure how much longer I'll have this Jeep (171k miles and rusting away...)

Not on the Jeep but I've used reman calipers from Autozone, Advance, Napa, etc. on other vehicles without issue.

Had good results with remans from Napa.

Pretty much anywhere is going to be a Cardone. I have them on the rear, since 2015. Had to replace one of them last year again.

I used Cardones from Autozone on the Outback and they were fine.

I've seen Raybestos for $80 but for the fronts I am looking to change out I may just go to Napa or Advance Auto. The car is a daily drive and not put through anything harsh. My understanding is most of these are reman anyway.

At work the best place is Napa's,a little more but rarely ever have a issue with them.

Have installed hundreds from Napa,all of my calipers on my personal vehicle when needed have been Napa remans and have been for 20+ years.

Best to make a brake clean, regrease and rebuild part of yearly maintenance

Pretty much any from the major parts stores will be similar. Not really much difference possible. I used to rebuild my own myself, but at the price anymore it's not worth it.

I replaced all 4 a few years ago - actually replaced everything, rotors, pads, emergency shoes and painted the calipers while they were newish. I either used O'Reily or Autozone, except for pads, I used Black Magic pads.

^Agreed.

We run two sets of tires on the KJ, so when it comes to changing over every ~6 months, the brakes are staring back at you. Take a little extra time to look for play, uneven wear, knock off excess rust/dirt, grease contact points, adjust parking brakes, etc.

Whatever you get, make sure it has a lifetime warranty. I've tried calipers from every parts store and I've warrantied all of them.

Those are cool! Never saw them before.

Just picked up a complete set from NAPA, Eclipse's. They happened to be on sale for $5 off.
