I have my UHF installed in the little tray beside the cigarette lighter. Fits perfectly.

Yea, its the GME TX3400. I really like it. Has a decent range and is very loud and clear. My mates reckon I come through the clearest out of everyone when we are talking on channel. Maybe you could drill some holes next to the shifter (down the side of the hump) and attach it vertically? If that makes sense...

That's what I was thinking, just wanted to see what others have done, mmm aybe get some ideas. Also, being in Oz, the Jeep is right hand drive meaning that the transfer shifter is on the passanger side. That gives me more roome on ythe side of the consol.

My VHF/UHF control head/microphone is mounted on a goosneck connected to the right-front driver's seat bolt, (left hand drive). A Yaesu FTM-10 SR. The rest of the radio and its' wiring live behind the center console. A Kenwood speaker is mounted above the shoulder belt. Antenna mount is on the front top lip of the back seat door on the driver's side.

I would like a unit with the controls on the mic, but I already have a GME unit that I am going to use.
