Hi Folks,
I'm new to the site and would like to ask if anyone has installed a new 3.6 in their Liberty.
Thanks

The factory 3.7 is a 90 degree engine and the 3.6 is 60, so it’s not a simple swap. It’d require a 3.6 drivetrain, harnesses and pcm to be done.
I’m sure someone knows how to make it happen

As cool as I think a 3.6 kj would be, if you want a better engine it seems like buying an xterra with a 4.0 is the way to go.

*koff*Hellcat motor*koff*

I mean if you're gonna do it, why not do it right? :D

I'm sure by now someone has wrecked a Hellcat GC. Donor drivetrain and all that.

eta: no wait! this one might actually be do-able. hear me out... Neon SRT-4 drivetrain.
motor and trans. yes, the FWD trans. run the rear shaft off the "drivers" side output, the front shaft off the "passenger" side. with the LSD in the trans already you could have an AWD setup. question is would the front shaft be too short or have too high an angle to be do-able. 400HP/400TQ is easy and reliable on those motors and trans. You could make a mini-hellcat Liberty.

I might just have to start looking harder for donor rigs now. :D

Why stop with the hellcat engine and keep tabs on all the Demons and wait for one of those to be wrecked.

700HP is so yesterday when you can have 840HP.

Not the mountains.
Don't get me wrong that 3.5 is a great engine and I've heard it's tuned for low end torque in the new Raptors but That thing is huge(the Raptor) and a V8 sounds so much better.

A 5.2 Voodoo tuned for low end would be fun.

I watched a vid of a GT350 with twin snails on it. They tuned it to help fill the gap that happens below the 4K rpm mark. So nice.

Call me old school... :mario: but I had no issues with a 5.2L magnum w/5spd in a 1500 ram.

I'd happily put that in a Liberty with a dead V6. Just sayin...
