I called carquest and oreillys and neither could locate an axle nut for my liberty...I ended up reusing the old one, but I do need new hub screws.

They're the Torx external bolts that hold front wheel hub together. I asked at oreillys and looked online can't find them....am I losing my mind....shouldn't locating a bolt be easy!?

It is easy
Mopar has them , got some to have on hand for those just in case moments and they were cheap really
OReillys, Autozone , CarQuest are good for buying wax ( if you use cheaper waxes )

Yeah carquest said if I brought it in they could probably match the axle nut...but trying to locate the hub bolts on their website and at their store was fruitless.

For OE specific bolts like those hub bolts your only going to find them from a dealer, online dealer or actually walk into a dealership.

They also don't generally sell those axle nuts by themselfs, they come with the CV axles or in some cases(and vehicles,KJ not included) new hub flanges. The only ones I've seen that are generally sold by themselfs are the ones for certian years of 2wd Ford pickups with the bearings part of the rotors.

When I worked retail auto parts, we had a variety of standalone axle nuts.. if the computer didn't specify what it was, I'd just grab a replacement half-shaft off the shelf and match up the new axle nut that came with it to one of the a la carte nuts.

The hub bolts... yeah, not going to be had at any local auto parts stores. Yeah they're "just bolts", but no, they're not. Just go to the Jeep dealer and get the proper ones and be done with it. If they're cheap, grab one or two extra.

I know with dirtbikes you can order nuts and bolts off just about every parts website. Looks like its not quite the same with vehicles. I will head out to the stealership to get the bolt hopefully this weekend. I appreciate everyones input! :)

I don't have a KJ collection yet but I don't ever toss serviceable hardware out. Saved many trips to town for stuff that isn't there. I even salvage zerks. "Fair-spares" can keep you going.

Yes !!
I grew up on a farm where if something broke down you'd sort through cans of bolts etc Grandpa had and make it work. No trips to down, that meant you just lost an hour at least, so save em all
By the way still have the old oil cans filled with bolts etc Grandpa had

You mean "back in the day when oil, coffee, and most other things came in cans" that ended up in the garage filled with nuts/bolts, etc....Look in the Quaker State can first, then the Maxwell House can, then......no, I don't remember any longer....keep your nuts in cans you say?

No one could possibly believe/understand how such a thing could happen cause there is no app for that.....

I never throw away bolts and such either.I have a big service cart(5 drawers) full of bolts/nuts and other odd things at work.Weighs about 1000lbs or so of just that junk but I use it all the time as do others.
