i haven't repeated the experiment procedures yet but with what I saw today, didn't look too good. Although it was a few degrees hotter today.

hello. I live in Israel - and it is ******* hot here in august. the best solution i can offer you is to place a fan in front of the AC evaporator - from the likes of SPAL etc. works fine when you are going slow
Bummer. I was about to pick up some insulation tape yesterday, but fuggidaboutit

so no hard numbers but I did feel some slight improvement this summer.

I do not own a Jeep nor do I know anything about the equipment used for the vehicles. I am a passer by gleaning information for a friends new toy. I have an F150 PU and if you check the forums there are lots of folks in hot country complaining about the a/c, I am one. I reinsulated my low pressure/liquid lines especially all of the metal parts. Might have gained a degree or two.
First and foremost the charge must be as close to factory specs as possible. To much is just as bad as to little. After two summers in Arizona I decided to remove the charge and reestablish a vacuum. I have a Micron Meter that I use for residential a/c's. I ran the vacuum pump until I got 100 microns. Then I flushed the system with nitrogen and did the vacuum again. Filled the system with 134a and added Zerol Ice Part No.: 040232191046. I used this stuff on an old R22 machine that I had on my home. It was so loud that when the compressor turned on, conversation 30 feet away on the patio stopped. ZI lowered the noise and electric draw. ZI is made by Nu Calgon they have been around a long time. ZI will be put into my new home ac when it is 3 years old. Read some where that it does not do as much good on new equipment.
ZI is best explained as synthetic oil for your ac.
Back to my F150, got the temp down to 40 F discharge when the bloody air mix actuator broke. I have to take the dash apart to replace the actuator.
I offer this as information only, I am retired and have never worked for Nu Calgon nor do I sell the stuff. Best bet on a clean ac system you would get 4-5 degrees on a given day. Higher temps means lower gain.

sadly this wont help much, ive done it and the work required to do so is not near worth what youll be getting out of it.. like if your ganna add thermo insulation in the roof you might as well wrap the entire exhaust because your ganna see the same result either way.
