I am having problems with my 2005 Jeep Liberty Sport that has the 2.4l 6-speed manual ******. It has been trying to stall out when I ran the air conditioner and was at a stop light, but other than that it was operating pretty well. I went on vacation for 6 days, and when I came back it would not start. The engine would turn over, there would be a clicking noise, but it wouldn't start. I tried it again the next day, but the same thing happened. I took out the battery and had it tested, but it was fine. I had it towed to a local mechanic, they worked on it for 1.5 hours on Saturday but had to close. They said it actually started on Monday morning, but wanted to stall out. They have tested the fuel system and other things, but they can't figure out what is wrong with it. They have tested it for 2 days. They do not want me to drive it, and recommend that I have it towed to the dealer. So, please provide me with some advice on what to check and what might be the problem. Thanks!

First off welcome! You should replace the spark plug wires and I would also replace the plugs. I would also clean out your throttle body as well.

Odd as it may sound, some people have had a bad belt tensioner cause stalling and rough running. Worth a look.

I forgot to thank those who replied. I passed this info on to the mechanic, and my Jeep was fixed and runs great again. The main problems were the spark plug wires and spark plugs. Thanks again.
