Installing my new UCAs from JBA. And I just noticed there is no hole for a cotter pin on the ball joint. Old ones (not stock) didnt have them either. Is it just the lowers that have cotter pins?

Also another quick question... how do I torque off the ball joint nut. I have to hold qith a wrench to keep the ball joint from turning so how do I click it off?

get it mostly tight using 2 wrenches , once it seats in the knuckle and starts to torque you can click it off with a torque wrench with weight on the suspension

as for the cotter pin question, some of the uca balljoints didnt have cotter pins, depending on the model of the balljoint. both sets of JBA UCA balljoints that i have, have the cotter pin holes

i seem to remember putting some raybestos balljoints in a jba a-arm that didnt have cotter pin holes, i ended up drilling and cleaning the threads to put cotter pins in them and give the guy some peace of mind

i think different ball joints have different type of locking nuts.

I think the cotter pin would be needed if it came with a castle nut.

Ummm Im not sure if the ball joint is rebuildable. But it definitely wouldnt be hard to replace the balljoint. I got the one with the ball joint held in by those 4 bolts at the top

Yes I know it would not be hard to replace, but he is selling rebuildable ones now so curious if you got those ?
They are all held in with 4 bolts in his arms

I have a set of preproduction and they have cotter key holes , and assumed he would continue with them as such
