My radio just went to where it gets fuzzy on all stations. There shouldn't be static on any of them. Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas on a fix?

It could be so many things.. blown amplifier, antenna connection, Volume control etc.

02 sport. Could it be the actual deck?

Could be the head unit itself, but you wouldn't want to assume that and go and replace it without checking other things first. Those other things are easier/free to inspect.

Download the 2002 Service manuals here...gives you the Theory of Operations and Wiring Diagrams....look in the diagrams for the äntennae choke and the location on the reverse side of the internal fuse panel for the relevant relay.

Swap this relay over with an identical one next to it. Dont know if your model KJ has this relay..my Export 2002 CRD has the antennae built into the right rear quarter window.

Also try add an earthing strap from the hood to a good clean chassis point.
