I'd like to have it for the KJ or KL. And then a CRD badge on the back too. Keep em guessing. :D

Just because they gave it some crappy 4wd mechanism doesn't make it a jeep.
My Dodge Shadow is probably better off road, with the right tires. :D
Heck it has done some off-roading in the past.

Also, I think you need a new drop for your draw bar.

I wouldn't trust that thing going off-road over some small yard bushes lol.

The CVT or variable trans has solenoids in it and I guess those are known to fail so I'm looking in to it now. (Can't be too mad I guess it's over 200,000 miles)

You are correct, I only had a 5 1/2 drop on it and I need to get probably an 8. Worked for the time being though [emoji1305]

How did you like the Duratracs? Was thinking about going with those on mine.

Installed a set of Duratracs ( 265-75-16s ) at 129,000 miles, sold the tires and Moabs at 121,000 miles still some tread.
Great tire, could go places in two wheel drive that I had to use 4 wheel before. Should of gotten another set for the 03, still kickin myself on that one

The title of this thread doesn't mention which Jeep I worked on today... ;)

Gave the Commander a good wash for first time since some paint and bodywork at a local shop. And yes, it needs springs and shocks. About to place an order with JBA on an OME spring/shock setup...

Then decided to dive in and change the spark plugs. The Hemi has 16 of those buggers with VERY long threads - used a right-angle cordless ratchet to speed things up. Funny how folks on other forums complain about getting to the plugs but I didn't find them any more difficult than the KJ's plugs. They obviously hadn't been changed in a while - all 16 looked just like this one:

And I drove the KJ to a local tire shop to look at some options to replace the Duratracs. Haven't made up my mind yet.

Now that I have a hemi and hearing the same BS on the ram forums, I finally got a an opinion i can trust. But what would you expect when the forums most popular mod is to change 275 60 20 to 275 65 20's and add a spacer to level it upfront.

how did the 265 70 16 's wear since their not 6 or 10 ply ie C's or E's?

...mine just has the Hemi badge on the rear hatch and the Trail Rated badge on the front fenders. I'd love to have that badge on mine though... :waytogo:

Bob
I searched high and low last night to see if I could find a picture of one. No luck. It really made me do a double take as every other Trail Rated badge I've seen looked like all the rest, except possible different colors.

On the way to work my brakes suddenly became very spongy... turns out a brake line is leaking pretty badly. Hopefully I'll be able to patch it up temporarily so I can make it home in the morning (a 50-mile drive)... Doesn't help that it's dark and everything's covered in snow.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
I bought a '96 F-150 with the straight 6 last fall. PO added Cummins badges next to the F-150 badges on the fenders. Nobody seems to notice.

Everyone notices my "Hybrid" stickers on my KJ but fail to see the "Not a" or "11mpg" on the same sticker.

Funny thing is technically it is a hybrid since there are Jeep parts,Ford parts, and Chevy parts all mixed together.

Got everything in order to replace the front lbj, strut/lca bushings, inner and outter tie rod ends. Doing it this sunday. Then everything beside front lca bushings will be new. Rear has new trilink. Ride great but will be so much better after I get a realignment on Monday. Everything is moog problem solver parts sourced from Amazon and advance auto parts.

Would love to do new motor, trans, and transfer case mounts but that may wait a bit.

Looks great! These will be the next tires on the LR3 and probably on my KJ. Would get Terras again but the new gen doesn't come in the LR3 size any more and for the KJ only comes in LT in its size, which I don't want.

Just the OME.... for now ;)

On the Ram you may have more room than on the XK. On the XK driver's side the power distribution center makes it a little tight to get the socket down the spark plug tube. What made it much easier was the cordless right angle ratchet I used - there's not much room to swing a standard ratchet so would've taken longer. First world problems as they say... ;)

As for the Duratracs... They wore great - I rotated them every 3000 miles and all five wore very evenly. I got 80K miles out of them so I think I got my money's worth for sure.

Thanks fellas. First impressions of the Dynapros are great, only a little city driving so far but they are smooth and not too much noise. I will be taking a road trip back home to Albuquerque and will be putting close to 2k miles on them in 3 weeks with some of that being on trails so looking forward to that and seeing how they perform. These are my first AT tires. I also put Hankook Noble S1's on my WRX yesterday and I'm running Hankook Ventus Evo 2's on my GTI. Let's say for the price you can't beat Hankook's
