Rear tire bracket question

the flat steel mounts that are on the rear tailgate that the mounting bracket mounts to is very rusty these are the 2 flat pieces of steel that are on the tailgate .where can i get these because mine are very rusty.

Why not just take them off and take a wire wheel to them and bedline them? Saves money

Mine were rusted badly also. Took them off and sand blasted them and they ended up being worse than swiss cheese.

i had some 1/16th inch thick steel so I traced the pattern and cut/drilled new ones myself. Painted black and bolted them on.

ya i cant wire wheel them they are too far gone im just woundering what there are called soi can look for them to buy.

That's exactly what I did and also cut some thin plastic for the backing. I actually made mine a little bigger.

I need to remove them again and repaint though. The edges are rusting because I used cheap spray paint. I'll probably do it this summer when I replace to rockers and bedline them.
