Well, maybe. I'd look for a used welder on CL, garage sales, or see what Harbor Freight has.. even for a one project use.

Chop saw? Nah.. angle grinder, high speed 3" cutting wheel, maybe a band saw would be helpful... but there are ways.

As to just having someone else do it; yeah... that's all fine and good, but I just keep getting hung up on what people's time is worth. I've fabricated things... it can suck sometimes. A good craftsman knows his worth... and he/she wont be cheap.

This may just end up being a case of pay the man his money and get what you want.. or spend less and get what you dont want, but at least it wont be a stock bumper cover.

Good luck. let us know how it turns out.

Another new design I came up with last night at 4 AM.
Narrow, only 5 inches wide ( high) but with extras
Now to measure twice , cut, tape together and see how it will look
In my head looks awesome, but then in my head I still look 18 so............

Tommudd,
I have a question, what is the plate thickness used when fabing a winch front bumper, I have an 07 KJ and want to start modding it into an overland type vehicle. Do you plan on making any more bumpers?

Thanks,

Lou.

I would definitely be interested if you ended up doing another run of rear bumpers, Tom. In relation to the front bumper situation, I had posted a thread about a Sundance bumper group buy a while back. I forgot to update it, but I've been in talks with a local bumper manufacturer here in Nebraska. He's not the best at replying, so I don't know if I'll be able to get him to do it, but he said he would be willing to do a replica for about $1175 with all the bells and whistles. With all of the bumpers he's done in the past he has offered them after he sells the initial one as ready to order kits. So I'll see if he'd be intererested in doing that.

I read this and I know this is late, but if you havn't found a choice, the ARB bumper is only $1,011. If anything, you can just get that and modify if if you wanted (cut off the bar and what not)

I don't like the ARB in general, not just the bull bar
Not going to spend $1k on something I don't like so I'll be fine without a front bumper
Just causes more issue with sagging faster anyway
