Hey all, Your input for my first time tweaking my Liberty..... I've been doing a little digging and been considering a 2 inch lift for the coil spacers so I can fit a 31 inch tire on it, seems like a BFG KO2 255/70/17. I would be in to the kit for $500 installed and $1000 for the FIVE tires(Canadian dollars) I know the tires are a smoking deal but thoughts on whether or not it worth the money to gain probably 2 inches? Wondering if I would actually gain 2 inches from ground to axle because of the larger tires?

Put another $300 to $400 on top of that and go with springs and shocks. Many have tried the spacer route to save money. Not very many happy with them.

I assume you are looking at a spacer style lift, which you will be very sad to spend that much money and have a very poor ride and will be swapping out soon after.
As far as the tires, some like them, I wouldn't run them
Plus the size you are wanting to run is way too large for a 2 inch lift

Thanks John....should be doable. So keep the spacers and add the suspension parts? Was thinking of doing that as the factory components wear out anyway. I do realize the ride quality would be sacrificed with just spacers but would it really be that noticeable when using it pretty much in the woods only? I really don't think it will be on paved roads very often. The shop that would be doing the work has installed those exact tires on the same vehicle and have assured me they will fit.... Thoughts?

They will rub with a spacer lift
period
The shop sounds like one of those who will sell you anything just to make a sale
unlike listening to folks who actually know

So what size are you thinking? It has factory 235/65/17's now. I presume you're saying the rubbing would be from the width?

Forget the spacers and go with springs and shocks - OME or Ironman ='about a 2 1/2" lift and with a little tweaking you can get 3" easy

Height
what you are wanting to run is quite a bit taller than stock PLUS you will need more lift and regear more than likely to run that size

No Spacers!

Like everyone has said here, you will be disappointed with the uncomfortable ride. In my experience, you can't go cheap with suspension. Either it'll be very uncomfortable or you'll have issues with the cheapness of the product.

Yeah the bigger tire will rub more than you might think. Front of the wheel well, back of the wheel well, pinch weld, front sway bar. But I do love my KO2's. I have put over 2K miles on mine and they still look brand new despite the sand all over them. They have a lovely grip on just about everything i've driven on except very loose sand.

So it has been a year and a half since I have had this set up and I am still enjoying it. The ride is still stiff with hard bumps, but not as bad as when it was stock. The tires still run great and did wonderful in the snow and ice. There are still some points where I will get slight rubbing, but nothing terrible bad.

Now with that said, I am looking up to save for more things done to my Jeep. It has been a little harder to save up now that I moved out of my friends place into my own, but I am also getting a bit more money as well. So now, I ask for help and opinions.

I have dapped a little all over and I am curious about things from Rocky Road Outfitters. I have heard a lot of horrible things but any review on the Liberty seems to be good. I am mostly interested in things that are not suspension related, but I also looked at their Rockfather Deluxe set up. Would it be ideal to go from my Skyjacker to the the Rockfather Deluxe, or save up and just get something like a JBA 4" lift?
