235/85R16 or 265/75R16 - Need bit info before buy new tyres

Hi,

I am going to move up from 245/75R16 to either 235/85R16 or 265/75R16 but I need some info please. I am looking to fit the following tyres:

BF Goodridge KM2
Coopers Discover STT PRO
Goodyear MTR

I am am sitting at 22' all round

Front I have 3/4 top plate OME 790 Coils and 2 clevis ring
Black I have OME 948 with 2 upper isolators and 3.5 bump stops (will go to 4)

So I should have enough space. I also run spacers 1.25 in on stock KJ aluminium rims (would love Moab but can't find them over here and shipping from US is a killer if the price isn't right).

I could do with some good photos of any to the above tyres to see how the fit and look from the side or the front (specially 235/85R16).

At 22 inches not enough room, you need more lift PLUS even being a CRD lower gearing Personally I'd stay where you are tire size

I am already geared 4.10, if anything I am too short. I will be changing the rear to 4" JBA Coils and shocks soon enough, the front might be a bit more difficult as my set up I think is possibly maxed out.

Still how can I get extra left at the front without changing also the front to Coil overs? I am there or there about...

3rd clevis ring? That's about it... :blah:

22" is pretty low for what you have up there. Guess that winch really weighs that sucker down.

No that is pretty much were is sit and has for over 90K miles. The winch actually sits in the boot all the time so no sagging from that. I am either not measuring correctly or that is what it is. I measure from the center of the hub to the bottom lip of the fender like everyone does :think: or am I missing something?!

I'm at 22.25" in the front, little less in back, with 265's and 1.5" spacer adapters. Hammering over the pinch weld is a given. The front tires rub a little on the front inner fender liner when approaching full lock, no biggie. If that bothers you, you can do a little "massaging" with a heat gun.

Remember he has a CRD with 790 springs so a bit different than a gasser with 927s

No not missing anything, you have a CRD so a bit different than us gassers. Info you are getting is from gasser owners.
NOW I managed to stretch one CRD to 22.5 with the CRD 790s, plus top plate and 3/8 inch clevis
We tried 265-75s on it to test fit off of mine and it was close, That was with the pinch welds pounded way over . Customer didn't want to run with limited space in there so went with 245-75-16s

Tom, I know what you are saying if there was a middle range tyre between a 30.5 (245/75) and a 32"(235/85 or 265/75) in a 16' rim I would be very happy (going 15' rims not possible and 31"). I need that little bit more room under the KJ sometime to get over obstacle or deep ruts left left by guys running 32" + tyres.

Yes & No , Yes you can fit them and No I need to do more work to get more space to fit them correctly. I think I need to save up and do it right. Done it right up to now so let's see what we can do next.

Being you have the old CRD your really going to feel those 32" tires.

Your best bet is to run the 235/85R16's on the stock rims with no spacers with your current lift.It can be done as I wheeled plenty with JLRockies before he sold his CRD and he ran the regular Frankinlift(927 front coils) with no added lift and 235/85R16's on stock rims(no spacers) and had no issues.

I do not like how 235/85R16 tires fit on a 7" wide wheel. 6" or 6.5" wide max IMO. 245/75 or 265/75 would be my choice for our wheels.

A KK clevis will get you higher... providing it doesn't bind.
