Hi
From Australia
I have a Jeep Cherokee Kj 2005 3.7L. Had all 4 Rotars and pads replaced and now get a grinding noise at slow speeds. When cold all is fine however once i drive about 10km start to get this grinding noise.
Anyone experienced this issue I have taken it to 2 mechanics no resolution and also to a driveline shop they cannot fault the driveline at all however did replace wheel hubs that did not change anything

Is there any pulling while braking? Maybe a caliper or slide pin is seizing up.

I had something similar happen when I changed my front brakes and rotors a few weeks ago, it was happening on the passenger side. It happened very randomly, I would hear what sounded like grinding as well and when I let off the brake and pressed it again it wouldnt happen. I made a couple hundred mile drive without issue until I hit some traffic and I pressed the brakes and that same wheel changed tones and to me it sounded like metal on metal grinding. When I got to my destination I took the front passenger wheel off and inspected the brakes and rotors and found no evidence of wear or gouging. Pads were seated properly as well. I rocked the rotor some and made sure it was properly seated and threw the wheel back on and havent heard it again since.

Are you able to tell what side/ area its coming from? ( pass front, driver rear etc?)

Hi
Thanks for replys yes Bedded in. Full story was that i had pads placed first these were grinding apparently the aftermarket pads were larger the OEM so the went over the rotor and touched the metal strip around the rotor. because of this i purchased locally from Ebay some rotors and pads still had the noise once the brakes warmed up. Spoke to the company i purchased from RDA been advised that there are 2 different rotars available for the KJ 2005 model pre early 2005 and later 2005 i had installed the later ones which are a thicker rotar so they are now sending me the earlier model rotar and pads which are about 2mm slimmer which apparently will solve the problem.
Also going to get the capliers done at the same time hopefully this resolves the issue
