That's just...nuts... :blah:

The Speedy Super Fast Whatever Lube place my fiance (yes, you read that right) took her Chevy to managed to lose the cap for her windshield washer fill tube. I found one online for $1.13 and had it shipped to her. The shipping added another $12.35. That plastic bottle cap must have had extra special care and handling on its way. :emotions34:

I dropped a 3/8 inch box end wrench down next to the battery on mine and it disappeared. Looked everywhere, or so I thought. Found it about 3 years later when I needed to change the drivers side front turn signal bulb. Setting in there like I put it there.

I had a 10 MM wrench fall out of the ARB when I pulled it off. I remember dropping it about a month after installing it in 2005, found in 2013 or was that 14 ?? ! But anyways it rode down in there somewhere for a lot of miles :icon_lol:

it's worse when it rattles and you can hear it when driving. it got to the point for me where I was either going to...
1) sell the car
2) tear the whole damn thing apart to find one )$#()$$# nut
3) set it on fire and roast some marshmellows

eventually it must have fallen out as the rattle stopped 10 years ago. :D

Nuts!!

I lost my share and bought several of those telescoping magnetic pick-up thingies over the years. But those don't even do any good because you have to first actually find where the nut is to use the magnetic pick-up......LOL

This thread is NUTS!.........LOL

Yes that does suck. My story: not vehicle related but it has happened to me while working on vehicles, but I'm an electrician, and you always hear about wrenches or screwdrivers being left in distribution panels, sometimes with ill effects, sometimes only to be found later sitting there where the previous electrician left it. Anyway I was putting together such a distribution when my apprentice(honestly) :whip:dropped my socket, nowhere to be found. WE spent twenty minutes looking for that thing until I was satisfied it did not get lodged between anywhere that could cause damage. The panel was on the second floor and I determined that it must have fell down the shaft the incoming cables were coming up in. Never did find it, all was good when I energized that panel.

I lost the plastic cap to the ac recharge line and a nut down in the front end. Both of these were lost several months apart. When I recently went to add my front tow points and removed my front bumper they were both just sitting there right on the frame.

Check the area under the radiator too.
I found a few nuts and bolts.
Skid plate and also above the intake manifold.

Try running a magnetic wand in various nooks and crannies and it might jump out of there....

We just signed a lease back in the Cleveland area. She's moving in in two weeks. I'll be up there as soon as the job details are sorted out. :)
