tall skinny tire, be ready to lose power and mileage though with that tall of a tire and do lots of cutting/trimming to make them fit

I was just looking at 235/85/R16's tonight.

Now that my Jeep is lifted, I'm going to start thinking about bigger tires. (heck, my girlfriend said my lift makes my Grabbers look, "wuss". lol)

I like the idea of the stock width tires, only taller. There is one guy running around town with a TJ. He has tall skinny tires on it and it looks good, not to mention more practical.

I see a lot of guys running around with wide tires that stick out past the flares and I think it looks rediculous.

What's a decent size tire?

I wheeled with a guy running that size. Didnt seem to look that much different from mine with 245/75/16's. I'd run them if they were cheaper; cost a little more than 245's.

I had 235/85R16 on my CRD with 2.5" Frankenlift II. Although I do acknowledge that I didn't have bad-ass off-road parks to play in, I only had MOAB.

Could somebody confirm that a KJ can't wear anything else than 245 75 16 with a 2 inches lift?
my concern is that a friend of mine sales 235 85 16 and I'm interested to buy them. Does it fit or really not on my 2" lifted KJ?
Thanks.

I had 235/85R16 with a Frankenlift II. MOAB was my backyard.

Frankenlift II is only 2.5" and I actually took my KJ offroad; a lot.
Never installed a red powder-coated part either.
