Im back, well kinda. still with the same silver jeep that i had before. its been about a year since ive been on the site. I blew a bearing in my jeep and its been sitting for over a year. i bought a rolled jeep from a member on here for an amazing price! I proceeded to do the worlds slowest motor swap. almost 1 year to the day that i bought the donor jeep i finally started to finish up the swap. yesterday was the first time we fired it up! it smoked a good deal at first but it purred like a kitten! i still have a couple things to tighten up and do before i drive it but it feels so good to finally hear it again and to see the light at the end of the tunnel. thanks to all the help ive received from the forum and the members on it! none of this would be possible without you. ill post up pictures of the dusty beast tomorrow.

Are you able to use or sell other parts off the donor? Or what are you plans for it?

here is the donor the day my brother brought it home for me.

For those who dont know the story. My jeep had a small leak (tiny) and then all of a sudden it ate over 2 quarts in a week and as i was picking up my lady friend from work it started to knock. I limped it home and parked it. a few months later a member on this board rolled his jeep while offroading and was looking to sell it cheap. i got it for $500. my brother picked it up for me and then i began a super slow process of swapping the motors. Life was super busy so it took me a year to finish the project. I took a big chunk of sheet metal out of a door and welded it into my hyundi santa fe after my lady was in an accident. I kept the transmission, transfer case, and my heads to sell later. my brother and i brought the rest of the shell to get crushed. we got about $350 for it so i was only into the donor motor for about $150 so not to shabby.

here is my brother coming back from Wisconsin with my new toy

I had been meaning to contact you for some parts. But, by the looks of the photos, everything I would have wanted was already trashed.

Good luck with the rest of the resurrection.

Looks like you could've hit a lick parting it out though. Good to see you took 2 non-functional Jeeps and made 1 working rig...

i kept what was worth money and the rest was trash. im not going to try and make nickels here and there selling tiny parts. if i sell the transmission or transfercase even for dirt cheap i am going to be ahead money wise on this deal
