235-70-16s ( stock size) are about 29 inches
245-70-16s are 29.5

I thought 235/70 16's were ~29"

depends on brand/ type of tire tread etc all can vary up to 3/4 of an inch
I just use tirerack and pick one brand and compare them from there

Looking back did punch an 8 instead of a 9 on the 235-70s sorry:emotions34:
should of stayed in bed :icon_lol:

I wonder if the 1/2 inch would make a difference on the trails

Depends on the tire and type of terrain.Per your initial post not a whole lot.
I got new tires and did not see the point going up .5 inch so I got 245/75 16's but they are a non-aggressive thread.For my purpose my choice should perform well. You need to consider what is best for you and be prepared to do what it takes to make it work(if you go bigger).
