2003 Liberty Sport; My left hand signal only works part time. When the inside flasher doesn't work, the blinkers on the outside don't work. The right hand blinker works fine. The fuses are all OK as far as I can tell, I replace the 10 amp with another one and still doesn't work. Any ideas???

Have you checked the bulbs?

Did you inspect the fuses with your eyes or with a multimeter?

btw, do you hear the ticking sound when the turn signals are activated, left or right turn signals?

Two possibles, the switch is going bad or the flasher unit is going bad. A Burned out bulb will cause hyper blink with most cars from the 2000's up.

I'm voting on the flasher unit (relay). I've seen them get intermittent before.

You'll just have to make right turns until you sort it out :happy175:

You may need to replace the light sockets. This happened to mine a couple of years ago, and after chasing the electrical gremlins, replacing bulbs/fuses/relay/etc, it ended up being the sockets.

Just another thought.

Is there any specific sockets you used? I had a brake light keep blowing and the bulb would be white with a hole in it, Appeared the socket had failed and I tracked down a new socket locally and the bulb has not blown or anything but works as a running light only and will not get brighter when the brakes are applied, The part store gave me another one and same thing and according to their computer it is the one for my Jeep.

do you have any moisture inside the housing. If so dry it out.

then put dielectric grease on the socket and put the bulb back in and remount the housing.

I had the exact same problem (left side also) but my indicator in the dash was rapidly flashing (usually indicating a bulb is burned out). Bulbs and fuses were never blown. I pulled out the bulb just to switch it for a new for the hell of it and noticed the copper contacts in the socket were discolored. I tried cleaning and sanding the contacts but couldn't get in there very well. Ended up pulling a socket out of another KJ and it fixed the problem for good. I couldn't find anyone that sells new sockets except the dealership, so not sure what a new one would cost.

If you're blowing bulbs and fuses, or the indicator on the dash isn't flashing I'd think you have a different problem, like a switch or relay...

I got mine from the local Jeep dealer. Just asked for turn signal sockets, and they worked fine.
