What did you do to your jeep today?

so, I need a rear gate, rear bumper cover, rear bumper reinforcement.

anyone near NJ have them or an idea where I could get them? I have a silver 07.

I always buy the concentrate and mix my own. If Zerex comes pre-mixed, compare the cost difference between that and concentrate + distilled water.

It costs more for the mixed. I did the calcs a while ago. But it is easier just to pour it in.

Replaced the tri-link... AGAIN! :emotions34:

Would love to mod up a different system to replace it but other priorities right now. This time one of the outer bushings went bad - the center joint was fine. Replaced it with another gen-u-wine Mopar unit. :waytogo:

Timing yourself yet? Bet you are getting quick!

Bob how long did the ole tri-link last before you had to replace it again?
Was it clunking or what was up? What is casing them to wear out so easily?
I am curious as to how much that stabilizes the rear in turns as well.
I also wish some one could build something else that would last and be a lot stronger/better design.

Well guys, took me about two hours this time. Previously I've removed the Tri-link extension from the diff but this time I couldn't break the bolts free from the ball joint attachment point. So when I installed the new Tri-link I ended up having to line up the ball joint stud with the hole in the attachment point, wrap a ratchet strap around it, then alternate between Drive and Reverse with the brakes on to get the stud to drop down fully into the clamp. Kinda redneck but it worked :shrug:

This Tri-link lasted about 2 1/2 years. The ball joint was fine - the passenger side outer bushing went bad so lots of clunks and more "freedom of movement" than I'm comfortable with :happy175: Since I have the JBA Tri-link extension the boomerang is almost perfectly horizontal so there's no stress due to the lift. I think I just got a bad part.

In my opinion it is given the angle the boomerang sits at with a lift. Without the extension the boomerang is at an angle that stresses the outer bushings more than their design can take and the ball joint is always at an angle too. The extension gets the boomerang back to level and should prevent stress on the bushings and ball joint.

Some have expressed concern that the extension may not be strong enough to deal with extreme articulation. But I've taken my KJ on some pretty serious trails with the rear axle seriously angled and no issues.

Changed out the coolant, replaced thermostat. Also had some corrosion starting to form on the battery so I cleaned both terminals up really good and put on some dielectric grease, see if that helps any.

If you don't have those little felt circles they help a ton. No corrosion on mine at all.

Yea I picked some up at Napa this morning and put them on I herd good things about them, thanks for the feedback tho glad they work!

And to wrap up they day, full bath and detail on the Dodge and Jeep! :mexsmoke:

Vacuumed, wiped down the interior. I was going to wash but the line at the car wash at work was too long. Drove home.
