What is a good upgrade from the OE capped ones? I've lost a few caps and after replacing them I just feel like I'm chasing them lol. Be less money get solid ones.

I use McGard lugnuts,pricey but 100 times better then the OEM ones.

I haven't lost any of the covers , nor any loose so still using stockers, well plus I have about 250 extra ones.
But for the money hard to beat McGards, have used them before and they last better than most any other aftermarket

I'm going to swap out to open end lug nuts with removable black caps (non screw on type), similar to what are some GM vehicles. I hate capped acorn lug nuts since they usually do not last no more than maybe three rotations or so before the caps swell up and break when trying to get them off.

The only issue I had with McGard was the key failing on me, Even McGard said it was strange how easy it broke so I took them back out of fear of having a locking lug stuck on my Jeep when I need to take a tire off, I ended up buying a nice set from my local part store but they are all rusted after one winter, I am now on the hunt again for lugs, Anyone have experience with Pro Comp lugs?

I'll buy a few off you if it's at a nice price
I have one that has a loose cap which I switched w/ a nut holding the spare.
Only if hammered on by some tire shops will they only last 3 rotations. Mines lasted 209,000 miles/ and hundreds of rotations/ removed for lift testing etc. But then mines never had an air wrench or anything like that used on them only a 4 way
Everyone needs a stash like I have to fall back on

For locks I bought a set from a tire shop and and cant remember the name of them.
One thing is for sure the McGard's are really standing up well and no rust at all. They torque up great and stay that way.

I'm replacing my nuts with polished stainless steel. Our salty winters don't let chrome ones stay rust free for very long.

Had more than one friends car left like that with locking lugs back in my "tuner" days.
They will save you from the spur if the moment, unprepared thief. In most cases though tire/wheel theft is planned. The idiot has probably scoped out the vehicle many times and is prepared.

Professionals have the tools to get any locking lug nuts off in the time it takes to remove regular ones.
Whole box of them came with a bunch of other parts from a tech who worked at a Jeep dealership.
