Ok. After 2 weeks of relentless searching through forums, I have come to the conclusion that there is no point in even thinking about lifting my liberty or putting larger tires on it unless i spend between 700 to 1000 bucks on new coils, struts and shocks due to the poor quality of the factory coils, struts and shocks. And because of this I should not even consider putting on spacers unless i want to ruin my coils. Am I correct on this? If not is there anything i can do to lift it for under 600 bucks that will not ruin my liberty?

Sounds about right. Do a real lift or don't do it at all. If you can't afford to purchase a whole OME/Ironman kit buy it piece by piece as you get the money. JBA sells everything separately.

Sounds like a lot at first but after you do it right you'll be like why didn't I do this before ?

You could always do the 1/4" spacer plate, 3/8" clevis and an extra rear isolator or 2. That will get you about an inch of lift or so for $~100 maybe even less. It'll buy you time tip you can afford the springs and shocks. Also you'll be able to do the 3.5" lift right away. You'll just need to add a-arms if you want to go up to 3.5", if not then pull the clevis and plate and just run springs/shocks for ~2.5" lift(depending on the lift choice).

Who lifts Jeeps anymore anyway? This is 2014, get with the NOW...Cut the springs and Lower that baby so the skids scrape on the ground.. Not only does it look cool but the spark show it gives will get the ladies interested in you.

so what would a good alternative be to replace the stock suspension with no lift or for the rare occasional off roader?

there is no "good" alternative. Your only option to retain factory ride height is to replace with OEM (or cheaper) springs and shocks. The problem there is you still have the same issue with weak springs that WILL sag over time. The only quality replacement springs out there will lift your vehicle.

I'd recommend going with the Ironman kit, it seems to give you the least amount of lift, but gives the best quality of ride than the OEM (not sure about the JBA Adjusta struts). With just Ironman springs and shocks (no clevis or top plate or extra iso's) you'll get about 1.5-2" of lift (over stock height). Some claim closer to 2.5" of lift, but they're typically adding clevis spacers and top plates to get that.

Get the OME 925 and 947's. You'll get about 1" over factory height

But I think the 925's are rated less than factory coils and will sag.

Stock is 310 and 925's are 350. They are a light load spring but I also assume if someone isn't lifting they will not be adding heavier armor, bumpers, winches.
