So I replaced my trans filters in December 2013 because the trans was going into limp mode and not shifting past second. Very common as I found from all the people on here who are smarter than me ha ha. Recently (march 2014) it started doing it again, only once so I took it to my diesel performance guy and he scanned it and said it was a filter sucking air or something upon start up and triggering the limp mode. Since it was fine after shutting it down and starting again he said if it did it more to drop the pan again and check the filters. Skip to last week and it has done it twice in three days. There is an environmental change, the wife and I moved into our new house which has a sloped driveway, sloped down toward the street so the rear is quite a bit lower than the front. Could this be compounding the issue? Or am I completely off base on this? I'm not good with transmissions other than basic maintenance so I'm kind of out of my element here on diagnosing it.
My thinking is the trans fluid is sitting back in the pan farther and since the filters are towards the front? Maybe? Ha ha possibly a sensor? Something easy? I hope Ha Ha.
