Anyone replaced the O2 sensors in your KJ? Seems my wife's 05 6 cyl, has had the check engine light on and we had the PCM reflashed as per bulletin, but the garage did tell us if the reflash didnt work, then the Bank 1 O2 sensors need to be replaced. How difficult is this to do?

Just spoke to the garage, even though only 2 are bad they recommend changing all 4 to the tune of $550 out the door or we could do the 2 for $275 out the door.

Yes to do them is no trouble, finding the time to do them is a different story. I work 60 hrs a week. Im sure it wouldnt take me but an hour or so to do them, but its finding that hr to do them.

I worked 113 hours last week and I find time to do all kind of stuff... well some stuff... well if I cut into sleep... not so much stuff.... but some stuff... Gotta use the time you got.

I would only replace the upstream sensors, unless a downstream sensor is throwing a code. The upstreams affect the fuel trim, while the downstreams are only there to make sure the cat is working.

Not true. They actually have to do with fuel consumption by monitoring what is coming through the cat. It's in the manual somewhere. I would quote it if I had it right now.

how the hell does anyone get up to the connector to unplug it? do you have to drop the exhaust and or starter for bank 1 sensor 1?

What year? '02 and '03 with the 45RFE have a different exhaust design and the cats are tucked WAYYYY up out of the way.
