hey guys,
so about two months ago i had the inner and outer front axles on the passenger side replaced as well as the axel boot and the cv joint. Today I'm up in vermont, roughly 200 mi from where i live and in the middle of nowhere my cv joint just blew again. tore the axle boot to hell and ruined the axle AGAIN. i have no idea whats causing this to happen but it definitely shouldn't have happened twice in a little over 2 months. does anyone know why this happened again? my kj is frankenlifted and i really don't beat the crap out of it when i drive it at all so I'm not sure why this has happened twice already. thanks.

A few things we need to know
who is installing these and also where are they coming from?
With the Frankenlift you are running quite high to begin with and I've seen people ( unintentionally ) catch the boot with the clevis when installing them. A few hundred miles later and where they pinched the boot , it splits open. very easy to do, reason why I wrap mine good before installing .
So little more information and maybe someone will answer or give a reason

well the first time this happened i had my guy that i go to at the garage down the street and usually he does a great job with everything. I'm pretty sure he got aftermarket parts as well. this second time in vermont everything was oem parts and had it done at a jeep dealership. lemme know if you need to know anything else

I did this on my 07 pushing the lift to the limits on the CV boots prematurely wearing them out. My solution was to snip the band on the boot slide it down the shaft a little and rebanding it. So far there doing good but I'm keeping my eye on them. Before doing that they only lasted about 4 to 6000 miles and made one heck of a mess when it happen.

^^^ Essential

You can see where the boot wears, as the ribs squeeze against each other.
