Well, the factory model is mounted in the back passenger side panel, in the cargo area. It is wired to a plug on the back of the HU. You would need the panel for the back, and the wiring to the HU. I don't think the wiring is already there, mine wasn't... The only other way is a aftermarket changer with in-line with antenna RF modulator...

You don't care FOR the wiring, or about it? Anyway... Yeah, if you want the factory changer you have that option, or a factory radio with a 6-disc holder, though I thought they were too big. I think someone else here has one of those in their Liberty? You feed 6-discs into it, and it holds them in the radio.

All my music and stuff is on two 2GB SD cards, I am done with discs... For all that was involved with adding a changer: I swapped head units; to one that has a USB, SD, and AUX PORT.

Both the RBK and the RBQ will control the rear 6 disc changer...

I pulled the RBK in my 03 KJ and replaced it with the indash 6 disc RBQ and it was a very simple plug and play.

I did that upgrade last winter. It's a simple plug and play. Only I hard thing to do.
The installation instructions that come along are pretty explanatory.
http://site.justforjeeps.com/guide/82208269.pdf

Need to run the wire harness on the right side of the jeep, unscrew the 4 bolts holding your unit in place and plug the new harness in.

CAUTION! Disconnecting the radio unit from it's power source, will reset the unit and you will NEDD A RADIO CODE to reactivate it! If you don't have the radio code for your unit, you ca get it from any dealer (requires your VIN and proof of ownership).

The right hand quarter panel is held on by clips you need to force them out. Start from the cargo area and move towards the rear seat.
You will also need to remove the rear right seatbelt so that you can take the entire quarter panel out of the jeep.

This is what you will be looking at when you take out the panel.

The reason you want it out is (here comes the hard part) that you have to cut a rectangular piece, the size of the changer, out of the quarter panel.
A template is included to help you out.

Don't get scared, it sounds worst than it really is.
A Cd-changer surrounding trim is supplied to cover up any mistakes and give you a factory look.
The material it self is not that hard to cut. I did it with a sharp blade.

Here is a detailed write-up.(bowdown)

Hope this helps

Does anyone have access to the template? It doesn't look like the linked pdf instructions include it...I know I could just freehand it, but would much rather have the template.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you been a template for your CD changer, I'm sure that 1993 can fax you one.

Haha. I was dabbling with the idea of putting a external hard drive in. But I have 64 gigs on my phone and it seemed superfluous.
