The kid wrecked the Jeep. Havent heard from the insurance creeps yet but its clearly totalled. She is okay, thankfully. Glad these things are built like tanks. This is exactly why we bought this vehicle...to take care of her when she is alone.

Some ********* on the highway cut in front of her in a construction zone then slammed on the brakes when he realized he was driving way too fast just to get in front of her. It was an Escalade so it had minimal damage. Anything smaller would have been munched.
I am deployed with the military right now so I cant even be there to help figure out the next vehicle:emotions122:
This is the first time we havent had a Jeep or Dodge in the stable since '94.

I'm glad your daughter is ok. Have her get checked out by a doctor even though she seems fine now. Back and neck issues caused by the accident can crop up 6 months down the road but not seem bad at the moment. My wife has been dealing with significant pain for the last 3 years, and wishes she had gotten medical attention at the time of her car accident. That was basically the same story, where a ********* cut her off at an exit ramp and clipped her front corner, spinning her into one of those cement construction barriers. XJ was totaled, but saved her life. ********* left the scene, and was never caught.

Smart Daddy getting her the KJ - very thankful she's OK. Some drivers amaze me - they never think past the hood of their vehicle. And it creates chaos all around them.

Good news - she now realizes life is very fragile and it pays to be careful. :icon_cry:

Really sorry to hear about this. :(

Thank God she is OK. The rest is all just paperwork in the long run.

Really glad to hear she's OK!

A piece of advice - have her get checked out. Make sure she NEVER says "I feel fine" or "nothing is wrong" to the Dr and/or the insurance company. They document that, and it can cause you a lot of problems if she does have symptoms down the road. Whenever they asked me, I told them "I am not sure - I am still sore from the accident"

As a medical professional and motorcycle wreck survivor.....I agree with that, you can be sore for a while which will hide things that are really wrong.

Good news...The insurance company is actually giving us about $2K more than we paid for the vehicle! That leaves decent money leftover for her to find a replacement. The Jeep just keeps on reminding me over and over again why it was a great buy!
Looks like shes leaning toward an 05 Grand Cherokee now...

I'm currently deployed with the military and have been out of internet range for a couple months...just got into contact with the world again and discovered she is now driving an 04 grand cherokee special edition.
Dad approves.
I guess I wont be using this site much anymore...Thanks for the help from all over the past couple years.

I'm glad to hear she was able to come up with something good. :)

By the way, thanks for your service. Many people don't think about how much you folks have to go through and how frustrating it can be for you to have an important job which requires you to sacrifice a lot of the "hands on" stuff for your families because of it. :hail:

The WJ will be great, I still miss mine and it's been 11 years now since I got rid of it.
