So I went out to the junk yard looking for an EVIC console and pigtail for a spare EVIC unit I have to make the sale easier and I found some EVICs and OTISs out there, but I found one overhead console that was made solid black, definitely not painted. I looked around and found one on Ebay that claimed the black was rare. It seems to me that it's rare just based on what I've seen here, but is it really just the first color that was released? Or was it just available in certain vehicles? I was also thinking maybe it was just an unpainted part ordered from the dealer. I also know that some people here have seen a slate grey color as well. Is that just available with the Liberty's?

I got my EVIC from a 2000 Chrysler Concorde and it is the slate gray color.

Can't say I've ever seen a black one - can't even picture what that would look like...

Is this the black one? From a 2000 XJ Classic.

Interesting - first black one I've ever seen.

Keep swinging by the local yards and look for a Chrysler product with an overhead console. A gray one is bound to show up sooner or later - or there's always eBay.
