My 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport seems to be either burning or losing oil pretty quickly. I'm putting in about 3 quarts in between oil changes, but I'm not driving very regularly either.
No white smoke or anything. Not seeing any leaks on ground.
Is this normal or excessive? Anybody have these issues and want to comment where I should start?

All depends
How many miles on it
how many miles between changes
how often do you change the PCV
has it always had regular maintenance
Lots of variables

mine has 187,000 and doesn't use any, but oil is changed every 3500 or so, been that way since new

I've noticed Mr. Darcy doing this too. About a quart every 1,000-1,500 miles, no smoke or leaks that I can find.
