Anyone have any suggestions about those 3" and 5" carbon fiber antennas?
I realize they might degrade reception, but that's not an issue for me since I'm close to the stations.
I just want a "classier" antenna for my Purty Little KJ.
Any antenna company better than the others, or are they all about the same? Thanks!

There's not much difference either way as far as reception it will be degraded. I cut mine down to smaller length and painted it black. The nice part is the metal ball on the end is removable so when your done with the cut it goes back on. Saved me wasting money and reception is still not too bad.

That was my first mod ... not much difference btwn the 2 I have had. Just cheap ebay specials. Not much signal loss in my experience.

I got the one people raved about because mine fell off or got stolen and I miss the stock antenna.

In San Jose (big city) it is just fine but in Morgan hill (15mins south of sj) reception ***** where the stock antenna was clear. I should also mention I have an aftermarket head unit.

This is the one I got. 13" Euro style from The Antenna Xperts

The reception is ok not great. The stock was a little better but I like the look and don't have issues with bad signal around here.

Florida, this is the same one I have. After searching here and lost I decided it had enough praise to go for it and I was disappointed but it's better than no antenna.

CzarKJ . . . I like that antenna, so I ordered one like it from Amazon.
Your antenna appears to be "plumb" while mine tilts "backwards" a few degrees. I don't want to bust the antenna mount, but can the mount be loosened and then twisted so my antenna stands straight up?

That's just the camera angle. Mine goes back slightly. Its a good thing! You can see it here.

CzarKJ . . . I installed the new antenna today, looks a lot better IMO, and there's not much difference in reception as far as I can tell, but I only listen to a couple of local AM stations, so long range reception is not an issue anyway.

Glad to hear you like it. I only notice a difference when I start getting into hilly areas.
