It's a $25k corolla, it's an xrs that is loaded with everything. Basically what I am saying is that I have a nice car that I want to keep nice, the jeep I have just to have. I commute 50 miles to and from work and to corporate office which is another 30 miles away once in a while. While the jeep is semi reliable but I worry that keeping it longer more expensive things will start to break. I just hate putting 2000 miles a month on the corolla and within a year have as many miles as the jeep. What I have been trying to do is rotate the driving around and keep my fingers crossed that nothing major breaks on the jeep.
I do new home sales so I drive around on construction sites and the jeep is nice for that, but try to get a bigger older couple into a lifted jeep isn't the easiest either.
I see all these Liberties for sale on CL with 130k for like 4500$ and I just don't get it. I think Used car values are strangely strong. If I sold the xrs tomorrow i would be able to get 15000 for it, which is awesome because I only paid 8500 for it :)

Also the corolla has a stupid 2.4l engine instead of the 1.8 so I average 26, which isn't huge...

If I could buy $8,500 toyotas and sell them for $15,000 they'd wear ruts in the driveway going out of here until after awhile the only thing that would get in and out of here would be a Jeep in 4lo..

Why don't you just drive the jeep and the corolla equally. Unless you really drive a huge amount of miles each year you are not going to put a lot of miles on either vehicle. If you normally drive 12k miles per year that is only 6k miles per vehicle. That way they both stay in great shape.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
The jeep is about as entry as it gets.
The KJ is 10 times the vehicle the toyota is,even being only 2wd.In the long run the KJ will be cheaper to maintain also.

Go to a toyota dealership and price some OE parts out, you'll know how they are paying for recalls they are dealing with.$160+ for a little piece of palstic they call a ABS sensor, that's cost not retail, and they only place you can get them is the dealership were as everyone elses ABS sensors are like $20-$40.If your toyota has that VVT V6 better be checking that oil crossover tube, very common for those to drain the engine of oil in seconds.

i guess your jeep is only worth what you value it for....i had a 99 ford contour someone backed into it and i got t-boned in it, even with a different color hood and door that didnt close right i kept the interior spotless, bought the best parts i could obtain for it, and washed and waxed regularly....i bought it when i was 16 for 1800 and sold it 3 years later for 3300, (after doing the body work and painting the hood and door to match). what is my jeep worth? its worth enough for me to have around $3000 in detailing equipment and supplies, and once again i get the best parts i can buy and maintain it very well, i have a case of bg 5k oil change kits, im literally set for 10 years. i never understood how people could treat something like garbage, especially when they payed good hard earned money for it.

Heck, around here 05 KJs with 100k still go for ~$9k.
Even ones with broken front bumper fascia and bald tires.
