I wasn't sure if this should go in the Electronics area or here. If it's the wrong spot I apologize.

I was just curious to know if anyone has installed a light bar on their front bumper?

More so what I am wondering is a lightbar like the one in the picture below (as an example) or an LED bar.

I am trying to decide if I would like how it would looks. Not sure if anyone else has put one on the bumper instead of the standard round fog lights or not.

I started thinking about the idea while browsing the Jeep sub on Reddit and came across this and I really liked it. thought maybe something on the KJ like that but on the bumper instead would be nice

the lightbar in the picture of the wrangler is made by rigid industries. the led lights are great IMO, i believe tjkj2002 has a 10" visionx lightbar on his bumper and he posted pics of it in action a while back and it works great. i have 2 rigid dually spotlights mounted between the fogs and they are great as well, very low power draw too.

ok yeah I just checked out tjkj2002's I never noticed the LED bar there before. I'm thinking of going this route instead of the roung fog lights on the front bumper like I was originally going to do.

Of course as soon as someone steals the expensive LED bar off my bumper I'll probably regret doing it. Unless I could find a way to mount it behind the grill and still be effective. Hmmmm!

nobody has stolen mine yet, but keep in mind there are a lot of ways to deter/combat/prevent theft, but nothing is 100% effective, as the saying goes "locks only keep out honest people"...be clever with how you mount them, use security fasteners instead of regular hardware. for someone to steal them off of my jeep they would also have to break into the vehicle, pop the hood, remove the front grill and draw a lot of attention to themselves before getting the lights, you could also replace on of the bolts with a good quality stainless rivet which would then require the thief to drill out a rivet to get the light....like i said, be creative.

Yea I made it. It mounts on to the plastic bumper and screws into the unibody under the grill. The spacing for the holes are 25 1/2 inches center. Here's a few pics. The last one is where you lay on your back and look near where the tow hook cut outs are. Theres a space in there where you can get a socket to the bolt.

Dimensions are:

30 inches total lenght.
25 1/2 inches bolts center to center
2 3/4 inches tall
Made out of 1 1/4 inch tubing

Its yours if you want it....just pay shipping
