Today the wife was driving my libby, and heard a single "BEEP" (same noise as when the door is open and keys are one), and saw three indicators on the dash flash on very quickly and then back off; she couldn't make out what the lights were. We took her on a drive this evening, and I got it to make the noise twice. First time no lights came on. Second time, I saw the three lights, and I think it was the ESP, TRANS, and CEL lights. I know there was one on the right, left, and lower middle for sure, but couldn't make them out as it was a very quick (less than a second) flash. Couldn't get them to do it again, and it isn't throwing any codes. She is running fine. I'm probably just over-worrying, but I hate little things like this...drives me nuts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I found out during a recent off-road outing that it will ding at you if your wiper fluid is low. I don't recall if the dash lights illuminate in conjunction with that, but maybe check your wiper fluid level in case it's a little low and only tripping the ding once in a while.

Cheers,
Jamie

Had similar sort of thing go on in one of our liberty's - it ended up being the alternator was going... not saying this is the case here though.

The beep for the washer fluid level is accompanied by "LOWASH" in the ODO readout. FWIW

Yeah I didn't get that indicator...had the beep at least twice today. Still running fine, and still 100% random (from what I can tell anyways...can't seem to make it do it when I try to recreate driving situations). Stumped

The washer fluid being low wasn't the problem, but...

The wifey was sitting in it today, waiting on me at work. She turned the accessory on so the boys had some music, and it wasn't running, and a few minutes later it did "the beep." Battery maybe? I'll check at Auto zone tomorrow maybe.

Auto Zone checked out the battery/charging system. The battery was at 100% charge, and the alternator was doing its job...apparently the battery is at the end of its life though, which I can believe as it looks old and has corrosion on the terminals. Going to get it tested somewhere else also to verify, and probably going to get a new battery next week just to be safe.

Haven't changed the battery yet...

But it did it today on a long trip, about 4 hours into it. It flashed the "Brake" "ABS" and "ESP" lights once and simultaneously, long enough for me to actually see what they were (finally!)...thinking it may be a sensor or something now...IDK

I am told batteries can be flukey when lead flakes are shorting out 2 plates or building up at the bottom. They will also generate electrical noise. Also did AutoZone use a hydrometer? In every cell?

Nope they hooked up some type of tester...
A tester that put a load on it. That's pretty good but a hydrometer check in all 6 cells is better. If the battery is OEM, I would replace it. It might not be the problem but the money wouldn't be wasted.

It isn't OEM, it's a WalMart one from June 2010 according to the label one it. It's supposed to have a 3 year warranty, but on the battery it says we need a receipt for the warranty to be honored, which I obviously don't have.

Take it to them anyway. A lot of times they have record of it in their computer. Worked once for me.

Worth a try but a 36 month warranty in 34 months will be pro-rated down to almost nothing.

A 36 month warranty battery is a cheap battery. Ever since I worked at Pep Boys 20 years ago I never pinch pennies on a battery. I have an Autocraft Gold from Advance.

So this problem went away for a solid 9-12 months. The KJ is my daily again, and we replaced the battery in it a month or so ago after it left wifey stranded. After a recent off road excursion, the part time light is illuminated when not in 4x4, and when in 4x4 it's not illuminated (had this problem before, but it "fixed" itself randomly). Now, the beeping has started again. Sometimes it does it on the 2 mile drive home from work, sometimes not. It did it once while I was idling for a few minutes waiting on a friend in the store. Also, on a 125 mile trip the other day it didn't do it at all. I noticed once or twice the battery symbol (lightning bolt) flash at the same time as the beep as well. Everything is running fine, no issues at all...just weird

Possibly related to the switch in the t-case for the part-time indicator light?
