Just a note to tell you I had very good success with the www.simplyspeakers.com kit to rebuild the front door speakers on my 05. The sound is every bit as good as the day I first played the radio in Feb. 05' I was more apprehensive about panel removal than redoing the surrounds.

Hoosier, yes the not so premium Infinities. From all the posts of folks wanting to change whole systems it didn't make any sense for me since I have the factory Sirius and GPS built in. Best 24.95(if I remember right) I ever spent. And in an e-mail reply after giving positive feedback they said I ought to get 7-10 years from their surrounds. I never go more than half on the volumn meter though. Good luck if you do it you'll be glad you did!

My wife has a 05 liberty, the passenger front speaker is blown and the driver side comes and goes. How do you know if it is a premium system? the head unit has a 6 disc changer. I was hoping to do a speaker repair but want to confirm what her jeep has.

The radio choke relay will cause sound to cut out on one side, also when mine gets finicky, it sounds somewhat like the crackling of a blown speaker.

surrounds

Midmo sorry for the late reply, I don't know the answer to the question but simply speakers has a lot of answers. The main concern is not whether premium or not but the diameter of the surround and cleaning the old foam away with a good sharp exacto and getting the new one aligned as best as you can. Going past two years on my re-surround and they still sound great. Good luck Alan
