My brother owns a 2004 Lib and the rear window latch is stuck and he can't close his window. He tried resetting the latch using the rear door handle, and has tried his key fob, but neither has solved the problem.

In researching, it is probable the switch located in the handle is "bad". Is replacing the switch a tough job? On a scale of 1 to 10, my brother's a 2 as far as technical knowledge and "figuring shit out".:hahano:

If I remember correctly, there is a little latch inside that is accessible without removing anything. It is metal with a black rubber boot. Try to see it that is stuck in one position or another.

I had a similar issue last summer. The window latch would only grab after a good slam and when opening the gate the latch wasn't activating at all times when I pulled the handle.

To fix my problem. I removed the interior door panel (the whole thing, not just the small access panel) on the gate and reseated all wire connectors on the window latch and I think there maybe one wire connection inside the gate near the handle. Everything worked okay after that ever since.

Not too difficult replacing the switch...remove the complete inside panel to get to it.
There was a TSB issued for early KJs warning that water could get into the switch and destroy it.:icon_wink:
