iron man 4x4 cracked buckshings

I have had an iron man lift installed for a little over 2 months now. I just noticed that the bushings on the rear shocks are all cracked and i think thats where my noises are coming from. Is there a poly bushing kit available? Kinda disapointed that the bushings are all cracked after 2 months

Call Marlin right away and send him photos of the bushings

Ill call him first thing tomorrow. Is this a factory defect? And the source of rear end noise? Ill also have to check the condition of the fronts?

Called marlin a little while ago and left him a message. Hes pretty good about calling back quickly so hopefully i can sort this out today.

UPDATE: brent from jba called me back. He said they dont have any bushings in the size i would need so he gave me a couple numbers for camel 4x4 which is iron mans distributor for the us and canada.

Keep us posted! I was looking to get the Ironman and this seems like quite a problem. But in my opinion I think the bushings were starting to go before you installed the lift and that they went out on their own.

I will, im just waiting for a call back from camel 4x4. Keeping my fingers crossed that theyll be in atleast part of the day on monday. But i wouldnt let this issue keep you from getting the iron man kit. As i said before this the very first problem jba has had with them and tommudd has installed a few, if i remember correctly, and had no problems at all. It really is a good product.

Don't worry it won't keep me from getting it:icon_mrgreen:. Like I said my guess is that the bushing was going before you put the lift on and it was nearing the end of its lifespan.

I looked up camel 4x4 and their website doesn't list jeeps... Anyone take a look at it? Am I totally missing it?

I havent seen anything for jeeps on the site. But maybe since they are an exclusive ironman distributor, they are the only ones jba can get iron parts from regardless of wht make they are designed for

There is only one "main" distributor for Ironman in the US and thats it
Part of Ironman or Ironman is part of it

Just got a call back from camel/ironman and he doesnt seem to think the cracked bushings is any cause for concern or source of noise. Hes leaning more towards the rear shocks being damaged during installation but theres no freakin way i busted them up durring install. Everything was done by the book, followed alldata procedure for removal and install and torqued where needed. I sent him some pictures of the bushings. So with any luck they honor the 2 year warranty. Fingers crossed!

It's gotta be the bushings, that's where my rear noise is coming from.

You might try putting a washer or two between the shock mount and the upper shock bushing. My skyjacker shocks wasn't thick enough when I installed them and where making a banging sound until I slid a washer in there.

Thats a good idea, never crossed my mind that they might be to small for the mounting point. Im guna see wht theyre going to to about replacing the bushings or the whole shock if i get lucky. Then when i re install ill see how snug they are in the mount then think about the washers if it has to much wiggle room.

So although im very happy with the ironman products, they need to work on the customer service end. After sending them some picture last monday the csr said he would call me back on wednesday. As the days go by i wonder if they will even honor the 2 year warranty. Most of the time the small print is what gets ya. Usually they require installation by "professionals" if i dont here from them by monday im calling marlin back to see if he can do anything. I just wana go off roading....

I just dont wana go out and end up doing more damage and not being able to act on the warranty. Something is deff wrong back there i can hear something knocking around. Everything is tight so i have to believe somethings up with the shocks.

are the shocks topping out, ie with 948 and an iso, are the 12712 rear shocks long enough.... is the knocking only after bigger bumps, or is it a rattle?

I can't recall height of the Ironman coils vs 948; are the iron man shocks the same length or close to a NS-132L / BIlstein A702?

somebody did ask if the shocks move laterally along the bolt, do they?

The shock length isnt the issue when i was ordering marlin said it wont be a problem to run what i was ordering. It actual makes less noisethe harder i hit a bump. And yes its more of a rattle then anything. I think theres just to much play at the mounting point.
