Somewhere between being sane and insane!
A hydrostatic probe could work no? just drop it in the oil pan at the wanted level with the wire going out by the top of the filler and connect that to a LED or a little 12v speaker. Simple relay could make this work. something like that ( only an exemple, more research would be to do )

SICK - Level measurement with hydrostatic level probe LFH
So what about when the engine is running, going up/down hills,or cornering?

All those change the oil level in the pan greatly.

seriously if you just don't want to help stop posting in this thread? can't you read that a lot of reading would still be to do? and the moving oil in the pan is such a easy problem to solve. would require some testing but work the same as a factory machine that is moving would work.

Your not thinking of real world issues that come up with products ment for stationary equipment and trying to adapt to a moving vehicle. The quickest and easiest, not to mention cheapest, solution is check the oil via the damn dipstick. It takes 30 seconds and a monkey could be trained to do it so why can't a 18 year old be tought the same? What does she do when oil has to added? Does she do it herself? I bet if she's cute any shop would check her oil real quick and top it off for free.

Maybe you should go out of your garage a bit. Those equipment are frequently used on moving factory equipment for cooling liquid and such, and can be use in this situation if the OP is ready to do the work related to it.
Once you understand that the OP know he should teach his daughter to check the oil but he clearly said IT DIDN"T WORK maybe you will stop to be blind pass your own nose and will help him search for a solution. It's not because you don't understand something that there is no solution.

The link you posted is for water,as in for wells and such. Can not be used in temps over 185 degrees(one special model, all other 122 degrees limit),and that oil get's alot hotter then that and there price starts at about $340.

Again if the driver can not properly take care of something, well you know what I'm going to say so I won't type it again.

If they can't take the time to check it, nor care to check it , then it should blow up and let them walk.
To me its disrespectful to her father to not take the time nor want to check the oil. I mean its not like it takes a degree and even very little common sense
Even if there was some kind of miracle gauge would she pay attention to it?

Set up a daily/weekly alarm in her phone.
Simple and effective
You don't think she will forget to check her phone daily ?

She wouldnt need to check her phone, the alarm would just go off. And if she just silences the alarm and not shut it off it should be active for the next week. Or if hes that worried about it he can just call her once a week and have her check it while hes on speaker phone.

For those who have actually tried to help, Thank you. I appreciate the suggestions, keep them coming.
For those of you who insist on trying to lecture instead of being helpful...Do you really believe for a second that I'm not constantly talking to her about it? That I havent shown her how to do it? I promise you I have. The problem is, the miles blow by on this thing so fast that she will feel like she just did it when its actually been 4k.
What I really want is something that requires zero effort to glance at so that asking her to look at it every fill up becomes realistic.
The phone is a great idea, I've been wondering if I could find an auto maintenance app, but havent looked for one yet. That still doesnt accomplish the goal of making the oil check as easy as possible though.
No, I'm not interested in spending more money on this project than I would on a valve job...That doesnt mean I dont appreciate the ideas, just that the expensive ones are beyond the scope of what I'm looking for.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of my business, when I am out of town, I am usually completely out of contact. I may or may not be able to get an E-mail through, but I cant depend on the ability to remind her.

Ok, I have a good idea. it may sound like a joke, but I'm serious so hear me out....

Rig up a red LED in the jeep that is set to come on with a timer (say every 200 hours) that way it's not exactly a week and she doesn't catch on that it is going off every Friday at 3 or something. Tell her the LED means the oil is low and needs to be checked right away when it comes on. In reality it is meaningless, has nothing to do with the oil. Then tie the reset for the timer into the hood latch. So, once she pops the hood and looks at it the light will go off for another 200 hours. Should be easy to rig something like that up and would also be a fun psychological experiment.

That is awesome! Genius pure genius my friend

And to op. I have used a few maintenance apps for adroid and i havent seen anything that would really help your situation in any way. Theyre more for keeping track of what maintenance has been done and when it should be done again. How ever i only used the free end of the apps. Most of them can be upgraded to unlock more features but im still not sure they have an alert function. In which case the phone alarm is basically the same thing.

Sad to say when it all comes down to the end of the day...........
if she doesn't check it now, nothing you can do will get her to check it.
She has other things on her mind, trust me have been with some women like that, as long as the dash is clean they simply don't care and will run a vehicle into the ground.
I *******/moaned/begged/prodded to no avail on one nice Z-28 Camaro. Finally gave up and let her blow it up. Yes now she is **** about her cars......... so her new husband says !:sad72:
