My 04 Liberty Sport has 151,000 kms on it (94,000 miles).
I too have had a water pump replaced and the oil pan.
You wouldn't think that an oil pan would rot out so quick on an 04 but the quality of the oil pan's metal is pretty crappy. Even the new one.

Routine maintenance goes a long way to keeping your engine running a long time.

I normal condition any automotive engine works perfectly for 100K miles. Rest depends on different things, like driving, area, etc.

Mine runs just fine, just rolled 130,000. Have replaced some stuff but the engine is fine.

166k replaced water pump, all ignition coil packs + spark plugs. i change the oil every 6k with mobil 1 high mileage full syn and mobil 1 oil filter. also seafoam every oil change, 1/3 pint in gas, 1/3 in crankcase, 1/3 through vaccuum line.

i wish hptuners would unlock the pcm so i can make it idle smoother and get a little more power out of this highly underpowered v6.

ive got an 03 with the 3.7 and 5spd. I am the 2nd owner. as far as i know it is all original except for the battery. Ive had it a year and done front brake rotors only. also needs a new parking brake. 133000km on it right now. 2 nights ago it started idling really low, like 500rpm, and stalling out when i wasnt on the gas, showing a battery warning light. today, no issues, so who knows. so far so good.

buddy has a ram with the 4.7 and well over 300000km, only issues where the coils.

I just dropped a valve at 87,000miles. At least $2000+ for valve job with machined heads. I'm pretty pissed!

Mine is 163K miles, minor engine work but has a major oil leaking issue. Still runs good though but I need a new engine.

When I sold mine it had roughly 137k miles. Running strong. As for $2k for heads holy hell. A good shop here in town will rebuild them for about $5-700. That isn't including install but that isn't too hard to do. Depending on your wrenching skills.

I have almost 92,000 miles on my KJ. Replaced the A/C Compressor right at 90,000. The bearing went bad and broke the pulley. Paid $245 for a new A/C Compressor. Other than that, the KJ drives fine. Going to have the transmission flushed early next year. If you keep the maintenance up on a vehicle, it will last awhile.

My liberty (3.7l) has 170,000 and still doesn't burn any oil. I do have a slight compression problem on cylinder No. 1 but doesn't appear to affect starting or performance. Always have changed oil every 3-5K.

I only own a KJ because I'm 4 for 4 on failed engines under 140k miles.

cheap to buy, easy to rebuild/swap.
