I believe hes running Monroe coilovers in the rear from a Dakota. I don't believe he uses Monroes in the front. If I wrong I'm sure he will chime in. I run Bilstiens in the front and did run Monroe coilovers in the rear but but over heated them from running them to hard and to light in the rear. After I get a new rear bumper I will run them again.

What do you mean they overheated from running them too hard and too light?

Marlin is having Ironman make extended length shocks for the rear as well. Not sure when they are going to be here but those will be an option as well
If you look over on LOST in the Ohio section you'll see pics of 501s with his right after the install

What do you mean they overheated from running them too hard and too light?

The travel for the shock was vary short and fast without having a steel rear bumper or any other type of weight( light in the rear) so the shock shaft overheated then I whent to the dunes ( Silver Lake) and ran it hard trying to get some air time and stressed the spings and pulled off the spring isolators on the side of the shock. The springs on the shock actual bent and the shock shaft turned blue.

How heavy's your rear? Porkchop said since his was too light the shocks were run too light and they warped when he went to the dunes.

Nothing special but I put the Monroes on to see if they will help when I pull my trailer. I use it starting in April through late October, so hopefully they will work out. If not I'll have to change them.

You won't have any issues, nothing different than any other shock :headbang:

clevis ring is a 2 inch conduit nut found in hardware stores here in the US
Don't need them just an easy way to make sure you are the same height on both sides
How much lift from the Ironman from 2 inches on up to 3.5 depending on how you sit it up

Is this the kit that supposedly gets you 2-3.5 inches? It's advertised as 1.5. Not sure if I'm lookin in the right spot.

JeepinbyAl.com - Product Catalog - Ironman 4 x 4

Also can you tell me if the coils that are specified for a winch bumper or CRD are too stiff to run without the aforementioned?

Another quick question, not sure if this is anywhere else. I'm actually reading through the Lift FAQ now to see if it's there, but how much lift would require extended bumpstops? I know I can get away without them at the cost of wearing down coils a lot faster, but at what amount of lift would you say the bumpstops should be used?

Thanks!

ALL lift kits coming out of Australia are advertised at 1.5 inches
We all know that you get more than that but due to regulations over there that is what we get here ( advertised height)
I didn't use the CRD or HDs on 501s
Bumpstops ,....every inch of lift should have an inch of bumpstops
although when we set them up they are more like 3-3.5 inches but 2 inches of bumpstops works well
But for example with over 4 inches of lift
I'm running 3 inches of bumpstops in the rear of mine due to tire size/ wheel width/ etc

Thank you! :) This gives me exactly an idea of what I need to do to in order to do the bare minimums. I will likely just go for coils and shocks come time to trash the ragged and bagged stock suspension, along with clevis lift whatever i need to lift in order to even it out on all 4 wheels.

Any idea why no extended bump stops in the front on the Frankenlift?

I got the rear ones installed but nothing was included or even mentioned for the front.
