All,

Have an interesting one here. My 2005 has exactly the same ABS module (MK25E) as the 2006, which has Traction Control. As I want to be able to make use of Brake Lock TC functions whilst offroading, I did a meticulous comparison between wiring diagrams of the 05 and the 06, and the only difference I could pick up is that the 06 has the dynamic sensors (yaw/lateral located under the center console next to handbrake lever mechanism).

Therefore I set out to determine whether the TC can be activated on my 05 by using the ESP On/Off pin on the ABS module (unused on the 05).

Result? I connected the ESP On PIN on the ABS and it appears as though the dynamic sensors need to be "online" for any of the TC functions to work.

My next question would be to buy a 2nd hand dynamic sensor and wire it up, but wanted to reach out to anyone that may have gone down this road.

Any ideas?

Perhaps on fooling the ABS to think that the dynamic sensor's inputs are "normal". Bottom line - I only want the brake lock function for wheel spin on axle twisters - without having to buy a diff lock. :)

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Then you need some computer programming which will have to be custom done as the dealership will not do it.After that cost lockers will be much cheaper and will more effective anyways.Plus you won't wearout the brakes faster.

Anyways those gyro's have nothing to do with the traction control as that is for the ESP.

Personally I think when you drive properly, they shouldn't go on. If they go on it's because you did something wrong. All my and my GF car have those system and the only time they came on was when I teached my gf to retrieve a sliding car on ice. out of that, no idea if the ABS and ESP still work XD

when I want to disable the esp/traction control temporarily on my 06, I just unplug one of the anti lock brake sensors, then plug it back in later.
(under the the hood behind the air box)
nice to be able to keep that forward momentum going when the roads aren't plowed on the way home from work.
we get a lot of heavy wet snow.
I've been thinking of maybe wiring in a switch so I can do it from the drivers seat.
