Hey I'm looking for some opinions on these 3 tires, I'm getting new tires soon and I'll be keeping them on all year round. Driving conditions are; snow, ice, rain, slush, wet and dry... the perks of living in southern ontario! With some random off road in there as well.

All opinions are welcome

Thanks

Weaver :smokin:

Thought I'd mention I'm not limited to these they are just ones I know are popular so feel free to suggest others!

I didn't want to have a set of tires for both summer and winter and wanted something with some decent sidewall strength, ok off road (except in deep mud) and winter stamp so went with BFG AT's.

If a winter stamp if of concern to you then I think the only tire in your list that has one are the Silent Armor's. I know a few people that have them and I haven't heard any negative reviews.

I like them. They are C rated 6ply so they aren't stiff as a board and ride ok but are certainly stronger than a passenger rated tire. They look nice, perform pretty well on most surfaces (except in mud) and most sizes do have the winter stamp. This is my second set (had some on a Wrangler before) and am very happy.

On the otherhand they are pricy but no more than a set of Silent Armors. In my case the dealership swallowed the cost of them.

Lucky you! I wish someone was paying for my tires :disgust:

Yeah my size has the winter rating, Ill look into some more reviews about them. They look pretty good so far and I want something a bit more rugged than the open countrys im running now and something that wears better too.

So thanks for adding another tire to my choices ahah :pp:

They aren't necessarily the most popular tires on this or other Jeep forums but I've been pleased with my Firestone Destination AT's (255/70-16's).

I've run them off-road and have been surprised several times at their traction. I haven't been in mud bogs but have run through thick mud for short stretches and they've done very well. Have run hills, rocks, gravel, loose dirt and like I said I've been pleased. Are they a top-shelf off-road tire? No - but I wheel about once a month so most of my time is on road.

Good grip in the rain, excellent in the snow on streets and highways. They can be a bit harsh over tar strips and cracks on the road but that's my only complaint.

Duratracs are much better and are snowflaked as well
Have ran the Destinations/ BFG -ATs on mine in the past
Duratracs out perform both of them

I had the Yokohama AT's on a 2wd F150. Drove through an ice storm and several inches of snow from Atlanta back to Florida. They handled very well and we got home safely. First time in 20 years having to drive in those conditions again and don't think we would have attempted the drive without theses tires on.

What driving conditions were you in?

snow/ice/mud/grass/hay fields/corn fields/hiways/byways / whatever /where I go

So far I've had stock junk OEM tires/ 245-70 Destination ATs/ 255-70 Kumhos/265-70 BFG-ATs/ 245-75 MTRs/ and 265-75 Duratracs on the KJ
I went places with the duratracs in two wheel drive that I had to lock in the year before with the BFG-ATs. Used to love the BFGs since thats one of the main brands I sold in my tire shop, but anymore lots more options
Destinations do good until you get off the road very much
Silent Armours are a good tire as well but just not something I would ever consider running

If you are limited to those three tires to choose from then I would go with the
Goodyear Silent Armour.

X2
To the op
Duratracs are better but less pavement friendly. better in every other offroad /snow covered scenario.

On anoter note, those on your list are my top picks. handy if your trying to find 265 70 16 or 245 70 16 as the duratracs are less diverse in the sizing department.

Just recently mounted Yoka ATS. I have 17" wheels so less choices. Previous were Wranglers and a General. These do very well on both wet and dry pavement. Only off road :) has been some dry dirt and gravel. Great for this.

On other vehicles I was a big BFG AT user, these seem to be equal and better on road. Only time, snow and mud will tell.

No snow flake but labelled M&S.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'm doing rims n tires right now on my stock suspension so Im stuck with 235/70/16 and the duratracs dont come in that size so I guess Im going with the destinations! They should be fine for now as Im only gonna be doing mild wheeling till I get my ome lift and full skidrow setup then Ill buy some tires that can take me anywhere I wanna go!

Any thoughts?

If you're running stock you could also go with 245/70/16 as that size will also fit under the stock height. I've currently got Destinations on my KJ and overall I love them. The mild wheeling that I have done with them they did great, they are great in the rain and snow as well.
